TakeABreak and any references to the TakeABreak websites is a reference to Occupancy Pty Ltd ABN: 61 109 691 929 who operate the TakeABreak websites.

At TakeABreak we take security seriously.

Specific steps we take to ensure your security include:

• Credit card information is never stored on our servers. When you make a purchase your details are sent direct to the bank in strongly encrypted form. This means that your credit card information can not be stolen from us as we never have it.
• If you make a purchase the address must begin with https://secure.takeabreak.com.au/ - note the s at the end of https. This means that your information cannot be intercepted as it is transfered across the Internet.
• Our servers are carefully managed by expert staff who understand security. We also carefully check all code and systems for vulnerabilities.

Fraud and scams

Remember that you should still always be aware of the potential for fraud and theft on the internet. TakeABreak verifies all properties listed with us, and most have a long track record with us. Checking the comments made by previous guests can also help you to verify that the property will meet your needs.

TakeABreak has numerous systems in place to prevent fraud. Nevertheless you should always make sure that when you are dealing with people over the Internet that they are who you think they are. When you're dealing with TakeABreak or an accommodation listed with us, we should know the information you've provided such as details of your group and dates requested.

And remember the saying: 'If it seems too good to be true, it probably is'.

Email and viruses

We do use email to communicate with you and to put you in touch with the accommodation operator to enable you to find and book the best holiday accommodation. Please remember that email may appear to be from a takeabreak.com.au email address but this can be forged. The best way to be sure that all emails really are from us is that they will refer to your accommodation request in detail - if you haven't given this information to anyone but us, then the email is from us. If you are ever in doubt, please do contact us at the email address below.

We carefully maintain our anti-virus and security systems to ensure that we do not send viruses by email. However, you may receive virus emails that pretend to be from us (or indeed from anyone you know). Therefore, never open an email or click on any attachment unless (a) you are expecting it and from the legitimate content of the email (see above) know what it is; and (b) the attachment is of a 'safe' type such as .pdf.
