Nosh on the Namoi

Saturday 31st March 2007– Nosh on the Namoi: A Fine Food, Wine and Cultural Event

Narrabri will be holding their annual food and wine festival, Nosh on the Namoi, on March 31, 2007. Held on the banks of the Narrabri Creek, the festival has enjoyed enormous success since its inception in 2003, with 2007 promising to be even bigger than ever. Showcasing a wide variety of local produce Nosh is the perfect opportunity to savour the fruits of this rich agricultural region.

Nosh on the Namoi promises entertainment for the whole family.

Between 10am and 4pm visitors are invited to explore the wares over 40 local exhibitors offering tasty gourmet samples, which include olives, pasta, wines, crayfish and Dorper lamb. Samples range from $2 to $8 and products will be available for purchase on the day. There will be a live jazz band as well as an exhibition of fabulous local sculptures and art works throughout the picturesque grounds of the Crossing Theatre. The Nosh committee is pleased to welcome back food guru Ed Halmagyi, aka Fast Eddie from Better Homes and Gardens, who will be leading cooking demonstrations throughout the day.

Children will be entertained in the Children’s Activity Marquee with Plaster Moulds, Face Painting, Balloons and Story Time, and enthralled by the Gunnedah Circus School. There will also be a Baby Change area and Mother’s Rest area.

In the evening festivities will continue with the Nosh Night Out, an exciting evening of culinary delights incorporating the best elements from the exhibitors and other Regional food producers. Visitors to the day function of Nosh on the Namoi will enjoy free admission, and are encouraged to stay on and enjoy a meal and live entertainment on the banks of the Narrabri Creek behind the Crossing Theatre, Narrabri.

Narrabri is situated in North-West NSW, 560km from both Sydney and Brisbane. The Newell and Kamilaroi Highways meet at Narrabri, carrying visitors north-south and east-west. In addition to road and rail travel, Narrabri is fortunate to be linked to Sydney with daily Qantaslink flights.

Early autumn is a delightful time of year in the North West and where better to take a relaxing break than at Nosh on the Namoi Narrabri 2007.
