Blue Johanna Cottages are set on 12 acres of rolling hills, deep ferny gullies, beautiful cottage gardens and lawns overlooking the Johanna Hills, farmland and Southern Ocean. It is located just off the Great Ocean Road at Johanna Heights.

Dog Heaven
Blue Johanna Cottages has recently been placed 3rd in the Victorian sector of the “Life. Be in it. Dog Friendly Accommodation Awards.”  As first place was awarded to a caravan park, it makes Blue Johanna the second most dog-friendly Self-Contained Cottages in Victoria.

Well behaved pooches are more than welcome inside all accommodation. We supply a big comfy basket, linen, towels for muddy paws or a wipe down after a swim at the beach, shiny bowls and even some yummy treats on their pillow.

Well behaved doggies are more than welcome to run off lead. There are lovely spacious lawns and 12 acres of hills to romp. The property is a great experience your furry friends can socialise and play with other dogs, not to mention meet our big white dog (horse) Bear.

Activities and Attractions
Blue Johanna Cottages are about a 7 minute drive from the magnificent Johanna Beach, which is dog-friendly all year round and well known for its surf fishing and surfing. It is centrally located to the attractions of the Great Ocean Road, allowing an ideal base for visiting the 12 Apostles (35mins), Cape Otway Lightstation (35mins), spectacular local waterfalls (20mins) and the Otway Fly Tree Top Walk (20mins).  The Fly is the highest and longest canopy walk in the world and ascends through a magnificent stand of cool temperate rainforest featuring Myrtle Beech, Blackwood and Mountain Ash trees.  Melba Gully is only a 10 minute drive and offers a boardwalk through a beautiful rainforest by day & thousands of tiny Glow Worms by night.

A professional in-house massage service in the privacy of your own accommodation is available by prior arrangement. A freshly prepared basket of seasonal fruits, cheeses and Australian sparkling wine OR a seasonal seafood platter can be prepared and delivered to your cottage, however we do need at least 7 days notice.

Accommodation
Accommodation is available in two self-contained cottages and two in-house suites.

Each cottage has a private and secure paved courtyard complete with a kennel for four legged guests who wish to spend the night under the stars or take a leisurely afternoon nap.  It really is “Doggy Paradise”!!!

Cottages
Cove and Fern Cottages are from the pages of a fairytale. They are very cosy and romantic, featuring polished timber and cathedral ceilings, attic windows, wood fires, large corner spas, queen beds, air conditioning and breathtaking views across the gardens, the Johanna Hills and across the ocean towards Cape Otway.

Each cottage has kitchen facilities including a microwave, electric frypan and cooking equipment. Entertainment facilities include Austar TV, Satellite, DVD, Video and Stereo. All linen is provided including soft fluffy towels, homemade aromatherapy soaps, spa gels, fresh flowers, candles, a selection of Twinings teas, instant and plunger coffee and a continental breakfast basket on the first morning are included.

Cove Cottage is an open-plan, studio style living offering lots of natural light. Fern Cottage has an attic bedroom offering views over a ferny gully and ocean. A wide deck runs along the front and side of each cottage with outdoor furniture and barbeque leading to a paved courtyard.
 
In-house Suites
Blue Johanna’s in-house suites are quite different from most B&Bs as there are no shared facilities between them. Each suite has its own entry from a guests verandah and features a queen sized bed, linen and towels. Entertainment facilities include TV, Video and Stereo. Fresh Flowers, homemade aromatherapy soap, spa gel and candles add to the ambience. A continental breakfast basket is supplied for each morning. This basket includes yummy homemade bread, cereals, spreads, milk, butter, fruit juice and fruit packs.

The Standard Suite is open plan and has an ensuite with shower, toilet and vanity. This suite has beautiful views across the gardens and over the ocean. The Spa Suite features a dining/breakfast room, bedroom with couch, TV and Video and an ensuite with a large corner spa, shower, toilet and vanity.
