TakeABreak is an online holiday portal designed to help people right across the globe plan fantastic holidays in Australia. We list the most diverse range of holiday accommodation in Australia and back it up with travel stories, tips and ideas on our Holiday Inspirations website.

You'll find over 39 different types of accommodation in over 1400 localities - from self-contained houses and cabins to motels, hotels and tourist parks, we list a broad range of accommodation to suit various needs and price ranges. In most instances we put you directly in touch with property owners and managers to further your enquiries and make bookings.

It’s so easy. Simply select the region, the type of accommodation, or a theme for your ideal holiday from the pull-down menus to the left. Go straight to a list of great places to take a break - with images, detailed information, availability calendar plus a sign to indicate great discounts and bargains.

What is Verification and how do I do it?

To ensure the quality of our listings and maintain our high reputation, TakeABreak needs to verify the existence of each property before it is listed on our website. After you have listed your property you will be sent an email (a copy of which is found below) advising you how to verify your property. We require you to send us a clear copy of your current Driver's Licence or passport. At the time we receive verification we will also check that your listing is complete - especially the points noted on the downloadable checklist. If the listing is not complete we will not be able to put it online, and we'll need you to call us when the listing is complete.
As mentioned above you will find a downloadable checklist for you to print out to ensure that you have everything required to put your listing live.

Real Estate Agents will also be required to provide a copy of their Real Estate Licence or certification.

Tips
Here are a few tips for copying your licence. Then all you need to do is send it as an attachment.

Scan your licence directly into your computer
If you do not have a scanner take a photo instead
* Turn the flash off
* Sit the licence on a flat, non-reflective surface
* Don't hold the camera too close
* Don't zoom in
* Use 'close-up' settings if available

Sending an attachment
Open a new email message.
Select the Add attchment button. This is usually represented by a paperclip icon.
You will need to browse your computer folders for the file you wish to send.
Click on the file and then click open.
You can now type your email message letting us know your property name and contact details.
Click Send.

Verification email as sent to operators when they have listed their property

Congratulations, you have created your listing on TakeABreak.com.au. Before your listing is activated on our site there are just two more things that need to happen.

1. To ensure the quality of our listings and prevent fraud TakeABreak needs to verify the identity of the person creating the listing. To do this please provide a clear copy of your current Driver's Licence or passport by email. In addition Real Estate Agents will also be required to provide a copy of their Real Estate Licence or certification.

To achieve the best results, scan your licence or take a photo of it, use light settings or take a photo without the flash.

2. At the time we receive verification we will also check that your listing is complete - especially the points noted below. If the listing is not complete we will not be able to put it online, and we'll need you to call us when the listing is complete to do so.

A bit about TakeABreak.com.au

• We send you enquiries which you respond to by clicking on one of the links provided.

• TakeABreak's advertising fee is only charged for successful bookings and at the end of each month we send you a Confirmation of Stays form to confirm which enquiries resulted in a stay for that month. Completing this then generates the correct invoice.

• Yes, this is essentially an honesty system (although we do random checks) but we are confident that very few operators fill in the confirmation form fraudulently - and of course we take strong action wherever we find evidence of fraud.

• Don't forget it's really important to add images that show just how great your property looks on both the inside and the outside.

• It's also key to keep your calendar up to date - particularly by blocking out dates that you are unavailable using the 'No vacancies' button under the purple 'Calendar & Enquiries' tab.

• Also, to encourage visitors to stay longer, we recommend that you to add local information (such as local activities and features) to the descriptions section of your listing.
