This 60 year old cottage is set in the beautiful and historic village of Yungaburra, located in the Atherton Tablelands. With Lake Tinaroo, Lake Eacham & Lake Barrine just a short drive away and countless activites nearby to suit the whole family, this makes for a fabulous getaway!

Locality

Miss Bullen's Cottage is a perfect base to explore the beautiful Atherton Tablelands area. Set right in the hub of the picturesque and quaint village of Yungaburra, it is just a 1.5 hour drive from the Cairns International Airport.

Yungaburra is a tranquil, picturesque village situated 720 metres (2400ft) above sea level. The lower temperature in summer makes it a wonderful escape from the humid coastal temperatures. In winter, the cool but mild climate and crackling fires make it an ideal holiday destination for those wanting to experience a taste of winter Queensland style! The village has been a preferred holiday destination since the 1900's with visitors lured back time and again to experience the charm of a village that has remained largely unchanged, with many of the original buildings still in existence.

Yungaburra is nestled in a pocket of open rainforest, where the surrounding countryside has been influenced and shaped by many volcanoes now extinct. The result is stunning, with many outstandingly beautiful natural attractions such as crater lakes, waterfalls and World Heritage rainforest.

Yungaburra is the perfect base to explore the Atherton Tablelands area or Cairns Highlands as it is sometimes known. The village itself offers several restaurants, a village shop, library, 100 year old village pub, a variety of boutique & gift stores, the Whistlestop Cafe and a visitor information centre which is a great place to pick up all you need for planning your tour of the Tablelands. The platypus nature trail is located within walking distance of the village hub and Lake Tinaroo, Lake Eacham and Lake Barrine are all located within a short drive. Lake Barrine offers a Tea House and boat cruise, and in summer Lake Eacham is a great place to head to for a cool refreshing swim.
