"The quality of the interior was fine being a pre-fab building rather than a cottage
TV was on the way out

"We had a pleasant time, very relaxing. However it was a bit disappointing to find that the swimming pool actually wasn't very good. It did not look nice and we didn't even swim in it. The tennis court was usable but very uneven. Saying that we did enjoy our stay and found the host very welcoming. Perhaps in the ad the tennis court and swimming pool could be deleted so as to avoid misunderstanding."

"Peppercorn Cottage is a great get away place and it was a refreshing change to be able to bring the cat and dog along.
Kitty got to meet his first Shetland ponies ,he doesn't want to meet anymore thank you.
The cottage was clean, tidy and cosy, it had everything a person could want provided and I have told all my friends where to find the accommodation, our hosts were friendly and helpful.
My husband and I and our pets will be back , we all enjoyed ourselves."

"The picture on the web page gave the impression of being street side and so we were very pleased to see that it was tucked away with a great view of the hills surrounding York. Due to summer we had to travel early and the owners were happy to arrange for us to arrive at a more suitable time - very handy when you are travelling with a dog. The accommodation was very dog friendly and in terms of what we wanted a perfect quiet get away. This is a great place to visit during summer as well as winter - just plan your activities accordingly."

"My stay at Peppercorn was dissappointing. Upon arrival my booking had been changed from the accomodation I had selected. The owner had the nerve to argue with me and tried telling me I made a mistake. He was difficult to deal with and only accepted that he had made a mistake when I showed him my original email and confirmation. I had also spoken to him on three other occassions confirming each time the unit we had booked. I then had to listen to several minutes of excuses as to why this happened and how I could of prevented it. We then had to convince him to organise a cot bed for the 4th member of my party, which he wasn't very obliging about. The subsequent accomodation was adequate, but I definately wouldn't stay again or recommend.
My advise is triple check your booking and then have a backup plan. Owner ackward with gay people.
The only plus was that I could take my dogs. "

"The cottage was comfortable, clean and secluded. We were able to take the dogs for long walks through paddocks and along a quiet dirt road. Breakfast was great, the homestead and gardens are beautiful and the owners are a lovely couple."

"We had a brilliant stay at the Cottage. The rooms were airy and comfortable and well serviced. A bottle of Champagne was welcomed as we were there for a special occasion. Service was excellent and the people we dealt with, both the owners and other guests made for a fantastic stay. Even our beloved dog enjoyed playing with the other dogs."

"The cottage was very nice, clean, had all of the ammenities we required. They had acess to a cot and high chair which was great. The location and service were good. value a bit expensive. It is actually a cottage at the back of a homestead and bed and breakfast but is very private."

"Peppercorn cottage was unavailable and we were offered alternative accommodation in The Stables. Although really quaint, the Stables was much smaller than the cottage we originally requested, with much less private outdoor area for relaxation. The presentation and service was first class, the owners extremely personable, the breakfasts just lovely, the tea-house idyllic. "
