Staying at Faversham House is more than booking a room, you are booking a lifestyle change.

Idyllic surroundings without the distraction of TV, children or telephones - sit on the verandah and watch the sun setting on Mount Brown - a Hans Heysen watercolour being painted before your very eyes!

Looking for warmth and relaxation? Look no further than our wonderful comfortable drawing room, with log fire, complimentary sherry, fresh muffins and Ella Fitzgerald to serenade you if you like. Mmm..... luvverly!

Our continental breakfast always features home made jams, freshly poached rhubarb (remember that?) and lovely homemade bread.

Cooked breakfast is available too, for those with walking by the Avon River in mind.

The hosts, Richard and Nola Bliss are happy to chat about the house and York, or equally happy to leave you in solitude to enjoy and discover on your own.

Faversham House operates at its best for wonderful celebrations! Weddings here are like no other - personal attention, one group only at any time, the whole house for you to host your very special wedding day.

Faversham House is also the perfect venue for a group of friends, or social club for a break away. You can luxuriate in exclusive use of the whole house, dine by candlelight in the magnificent dining hall and set the mood yourself. Murder Mystery events, dress up and dance in the ballroom - ideal for anniversaries, birthdays, anything - what excuse do you need to enjoy this wonderful house!
