Activities include: bushwalking, tennis, horse riding, fishing - trout & game, skate bowl, local weekly markets, in-house massage by appointment, birdwatching, swimming holes or just relax and do nothing.
The forests support wildlife in abundance including yellow bellied gliders, greater gliders, powerful owls and giant burrowing frogs. Over 100 bird species are found here, including black cockatoos, wedge-tailed eagles and the sacred kingfisher.
LocalityUnder half an hour from Sapphire Coast beaches and fishing and less than two hours from the snow fields, Wyndham is an historic village situated between the Mt Darragh escarpment and Jingera Rock, at the head of the Towamba River Valley. It is surrounded by the Sth East Forests National Park. The main east-west access road is Mt Darragh Road from Pambula to Bombala, also known as Tourist Drive 10. Mt Darragh Road is a motorcycle enthusiast's paradise, with its long, steep and sweeping curves. The night sky is something to behold. Fresh organic produce is available locally or at the Wyndham General Store/Post Office. Nearby The Robbie Burns Hotel is a great place for a feed and a drink.
