A perfect base to bushwalk, explore the lower Hunter Valley or just relax in front of the wood heater with a glass of wine.
Located 5 minutes from Laguna township and 15 minutes from the charming village of Wollombi with cafes and restaurants, a general store, the famous tavern, a museum, slab huts dating back to the 1840's now operating as handicraft/gift stores and one of the oldest sandstone chapels in Australia.
Yengo National Park is 15 minutes drive where the lookout at Finchley Trig offers 360-degree views and nearby are the 12,000 year old aboriginal carvings at Devils Rock. The Park has much to offer the bushwalker and bird watcher and there are many rocky ledges for a quiet picnic with breathtaking views.
About 30 minutes away is Watagan State Forest with many marked walking trails (the Great North Walk passes through) and fabulous picnic areas.
The Wollombi Wine Trail has several local wineries and further a field are the Broke-Fordwich and Pokolbin wine growing areas only 40 minutes away.
