Cottage, Holiday house, Holiday unit, Chalet

Raven Cottage is a chalet style timber cottage set amidst low melaleuca scrub and backs on to dense mallee woodland, which abounds in wildlife. The back deck is especially suited to bird-watching or feeding the resident possums and wallabies whilst cooking your latest catch on the BBQ.

The cottage is sheltered from the superb Vivonne Bay beach, which can be heard at night and is only a few minutes walk away. Vivonne Bay has been voted the best beach in Australia and is ideal for fishing, surfing or just strolling, hand in hand.

Vivonne Bay jetty, a few minutes away by car, offers catches of tommy ruffs, garfish, whiting, trevally, salmon and squid. Eagle rays and the occasional shark can also be viewed cruising by the jetty.

The Harriet River is only 100 metres away from Raven Cottage through light mallee and melaleuca scrub. The river abounds in black bream and even delicious marron can be caught at times. Kayaking and canoes can be hired for a delightful tour on the river itself.

Raven Cottage is centrally located for the island's major natural attractions including Seal Bay, Kelly Hill Caves, Flinders Chase National Park, Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch and the Little Sahara's.

There is a general store within walking distance which can supply fuel, meals and general supplies.

Enjoy kayaking, surfing, beach, jetty and river fishing, golf, wildlife tours, adventure tours or visit the new Birds of Prey demonstration and display.

Visit the local industries and taste the local produce at Clifford's Honey Farm, Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, The Marron Farm and Two Wheeler Creek Winery.

We have loved our time at Raven Cottage. It is easily the best part of our four week holiday. Locality

To visit Raven Cottage you can bring your own car on the SeaLink ferry to Kangaroo Island or fly by plane to Kingscote airport and pick up your pre-ordered hire car at the airport. Hire cars are also available at the ferry wharf. The roads are in very good condition to all major areas of the Island.

Raven Cottage is located 98 kms from Penneshaw (where the ferry berths) or 52 kms from the Kingscote airport.
