Holiday house

Island Breeze is a luxurious, private, fully appointed house that has been designed to provide a relaxing holiday and tranquil setting with easy access to the major attractions of Kangaroo Island. It has an open plan lounge, dine and kitchen, together with two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. Island Breeze is approximately 500 metres from beautiful Vivonne Bay beach, voted in 2003 the best beach in Australia. The beach provides stunning views, safe swimming and surfing as well as good fishing. Vivonne Bay is at the centre of the major tourist attractions including Seal Bay, Kelly Hill Caves, Admirals Arch, Little Sahara, Remarkable Rocks and Flinders Chase. Local wildlife includes possums and wallabies that can be fed from the deck, sea lions at the jetty, echidnas, goannas, beautiful blue wrens and kangaroos.

Kangaroo Island offers rugged and spectacular coastal scenery with the highest coastal cliffs in Australia. Beaches and bays of white sand and crystal clear water abound on Kangaroo Island.

The south coast is a unique part of Kangaroo Island protected by National Parks and Wilderness Reserves created to manage this important natural history area. Featuring the magnificent and mainly pristine coastal scenery, with its high cliffs and rugged Southern Ocean beach frontages of Pennington Bay, Bales Bay, Seal Bay, Vivonne Bay, Hanson Bay and Cape du Couedic. Vivonne Bay and Hanson Bay are considered to be two of Kangaroo Island's most spectacular destinations.

One third of the island is protected and the only remaining piece of vegetation of this type in the world’s cool temperate zone still intact. Because foxes and rabbits were not introduced to Kangaroo Island, this is the only location where visitors can see native bushland the same today as it was 10,000 years ago!

The Kangaroo Island native bushland is unique to the island, with no equivalent elsewhere. Previously sub-tropical, now cool-temperate it has retained the density at all levels of the tropical/sub-tropical rainforests.

2 bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. Suitable for couples or friends wanting the perfect relaxing holiday.

A short walk and you are at the beautiful Vivonne Bay beach, which has been voted the best beach in Australia.

Vivonne Bay is central to Seal Bay, Kelly Hill caves and Flinders Chase. Feed the possums and wallabies from the deck of Island Breeze.

Beach

Less than 5 minutes walk to the beach.

So close to Vivonne Bay's long, curved, sandy beach.It is a superb site for picnics, beachcombing, surfing and fishing. Experienced surfers enjoy the wonderful turquoise waters. Fishing from the jetty, beach, boat or the Harriet River mouth is excellent.

When Sydney University evaluated 10,000 beaches across Australia (rating them on things like clarity of water, privacy and cleanliness) Kangaroo Island's Vivonne Bay came out on top.

Safe swimming areas can be found near the jetty and boat ramp, or the sandy-bottomed Harriet River that enters the bay nearby. On the other side of the river, Point Ellen provides photographers with spectacular views of the Southern Ocean sending its waves crashing onto the cliff-face.

Vivonne Bay is the only safe harbour on the south coast of Kangaroo Island and is the base for crayfishing boats from November to May. You'll find barbecue and picnic areas, toilets, and camping area.

Kangaroo Island itself is a nature and adventure paradise. Take your family and friends to discover Seal Bay, Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch, Little Sahara, Kelly Hills cave, and so much more.
