Vivonne Bay

Getting there (one hour from Penneshaw on bitumen road)
Below is a link to RAA map of KI - basically you follow the road out of Penneshaw for around 40kms, past Island Beach, past American River, and you'll end up at an intersection where you need to do a quick right then left to get on to the airport road. The 5km airport road takes you through to the Playford Highway or South Coast Road - turn left here. Once you're on the South Coast Road you're on the road to Vivonne Bay (and Flinders Chase, Seal Bay etc).
We are at Lot 190 Flinders Road Vivonne Bay. At Vivonne Bay general store, turn left at Knofel Road and follow dirt road along (one km or so) until you come to the sign for Flinders Road, turn left. Honey Eaters Hideaway is a couple of hundred metres on the left - there's a wooden sign out the front.
* Take a torch if you're getting there in the evening - it's very dark at night

NEARBY BEACH/RIVER/JETTY
The beach nearest to the cabin (short walk) can be a bit of a wild surf beach depending on the weather. Further along the beach to the west, there's an entrance to the river and it's a beautiful spot to paddle, canoe or catch brim. Further west again, there's a sheltered beach which is safe for swimming. You can get to the sheltered beach and jetty via car. Drive back to the general store, turn left at main road, go over bridge and follow along until you see a sign for Point Ellen/jetty on the left. A few kms along you'll find the beach and further on again, the jetty and Point Ellen. If you want to go to the river, take the turn off to the camping ground along the same road. KI Outdoor Action is also on this road and they hire out canoes, sandboards, and other equipment. You can go on quad bike tours there too.
