Bed & Breakfast

For adults, and children 16+, Aquarelle is a secluded bed and breakfast accommodation in a country setting close to surf beaches, and a short drive to local towns.
A choice of a king-bed suite or a queen-bed suite (each with private facilities, private sitting room and balcony).
Breakfasts are special - fresh fruit & yoghurt, fresh fruit juice, cereals, a constantly varying choice of cooked courses (such as pancakes, bacon & eggs, omelette, french toast (to mention just a few), plus toast, coffee or a choice of teas.

Locality

Nearby Hungry Head surf beach (1.5 km) is patrolled during school holidays.

Excellent variety of evening dining choices at Urunga, Bellingen and Nambucca Heads.

Urunga Lagoon boardwalk is perfect for an evening stroll along the edge of the river towards the ocean.

Property

Aquarelle is a purpose-built B&B with the comfort and privacy of guests carefully considered.

The property caters for a maximum of 4 adult guests at any one time (children over 16 years only).

Undercover parking. Limited self-catering for lunch and dinner requirements.

We do not accept pets because of free-ranging native animals.

Adult retreat

Property not suitable for children, Tranquil and quiet with no interruptions.

Set in a peaceful bushland and rural zone, Aquarelle is a private and secluded property enabling our guests to get away from urban hustle and bustle.
We have two accommodation suites, each sleeping up to 2 adults only. Each suite has its own sitting room and balcony upstairs, bedroom and en-suite bathroom downstairs. Solid construction provides internal noise insulation, but you will hear the birds "dawn chorus" each morning.

Beach

Less than 5 minutes drive to the beach.

Drive 5 minutes to the beautiful Hungry Head Beach and associated headland reserve.
Picnic and barbecue facilities, shady grassed areas, with lifeguards patrolling in summer holiday and school holiday periods.
Walk for kilometres at low tide on firm, flat sand and enjoy the frequent sightings of dolphins and schools of fish.

Birdwatching

Bird-watching available on-site, Bird-watching available nearby, Binoculars provided, Information provided on local bird population and sightings.

With your balcony at mid-tree-height, and our gardens below, you can sit quietly and wait for our "locals" to come into view. Early mornings and evenings are the most rewarding times.
The nearby Urunga lagoon is home to a variety of water birds, and sea-birds are found along the beaches and headlands. A short drive up the escarpment to Dorrigo will take you to the world-heritage Dorrigo Rainforest and its bird-watching walk. Migratory birds are more likely to be seen in Spring and early Summer, and again in late Summer.

Bushwalking & wilderness

On the coast, enjoy shorter walks through littoral rainforest at the southern end of Bongil Bongil National Park, or take more challenging trails in the world-heritage-rated Dorrigo National Park just 40 minutes up on the escarpment. We are also accessible to many State Forest areas with their fire trails and native forest flora and fauna.

Fishing

Fishing spots available nearby, Located less than 5 minute drive to water, Boatramp within 5 minute drive, Boat hire available nearby, Boat storage/parking available onsite.

There are kilometres of waterways in and around the Bellinger and Kalang Rivers, plus beach fishing a few minutes drive away.
Pack a picnic and hire a boat in Urunga, or launch your own boat from the Urunga boat ramp, then find your own favourite fishing spot.
We are happy to supply you with information on the waterways, or you can obtain maps and bait at the boat-hire centre.

Golf

For golfers travelling the coast, there is a course within half an hour to suit all standards of play - 9-hole "holiday golfer" courses, a mid-range 18-hole course on an island at Nambucca Heads, and a challenging course at Bonville International Golf Club.

You can leave your clubs safely on our property if you don't want to carry them with you for other outings.
