Crabbes Creek is a very special location on the northern NSW coast, close to beaches (such as Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay, South Golden & Pottsville), national parks (Lamington, Mooball)& wonderful hinterland towns such as Stokers Siding, Uki, Mooball, Burringbar, Mullumbimby, Nimbin, Bangalow, Lismore. It is 20 minutes north of Byron Bay & 20 minutes south of Murwillumbah.
Crabbes Creek Cottages has 6 private cottages spread over 20 acres as well as The House at the front of the property facing a quiet country road & The Bales. The House is fully security screened & surrounded by beautiful gardens. There is an upright gas stove, 2-door frost free fridge, double sink, laundry with LG Turbo washing machine & a dryer. The adjoining flat is fully self-contained also, thus extending the options for larger families for small weddings & family reunions.
Relax on the property - enjoy the birds, gardens, BBQ, bushwalks & the exquisite night skies - but if you need to get away, there is a General Store (built 1890) in the village & further afield, by 8 minutes, there is Ocean Shores with supermarket. Wander the many local markets, enjoy excellent restaurants or have Fish n'Chips at the Brunswick Heads Co-op or dine at one of the country friendly hotels which provide music as well.
The property provides a relaxing respite from attending Festivals such as Speed on Tweed, Brunswick Heads Fish & Chips Festival, as well as Blues & Roots, Splendour in the Grass & the Byron Writers Festival. There are golf courses, bowls clubs, fishing spots, surf, potteries, art galleries & beautiful scenic drives within short drives, but what most strikes visitors, there is privacy & that rare commodity,a silence, broken by a running creek or native birds enjoying the lush gardens.

Crabbes Creek is a small rural village at the southern end of Tweed Valley Way which is the old Pacific Highway. It is the first hinterland village as you drive north from Ocean Shores into the Tweed Shire. It has its own General Store( built in 1890), Community Hall & unique history - the first Macedonian Hall in Australia is in the village.
The closest beach is Wooyung (Crabbes Creek Beach long ago) which is reached by driving 7-10 minutes through farmland. Further north are Pottsville, Cabarita & Hastings Point. It is 30 minutes to Kingscliff on the coast road north. Murwillumbah is reached by heading north over the beautiful Burringbar range for 20 mins & Byron Bay is 15-20 mins south on M1 Freeway.

There are many restaurants to choose from, the closest at Mooball. Lovers of galleries will find plenty to view -Stokers Siding, Tweed Art Gallery, Escape Gallery, Byron. Those looking for a fun holiday can try ballooning, surfing, mountain bike riding.

The development, known as Crabbes Creek Cottages, is set on 20 acres, each cottage, The House & The Bales surrounded by gardens & patches of rainforest which allow for privacy & a relaxed, carefree stay. There are magnificent epiphytes, palms & bromeliads in the garden & creek areas at the back of The House. The BBQ area is close by & has seating for 20 guests. A large undercover back verandah area allows for casual eating.
There are 2 unfenced dams & the creek meanders through the middle of the property. Macadamias & fruit trees, including lychee, loquat,plum, mango & citrus are dotted around the mainly native gardens. The birdlife will soothe you & you may be lucky to see several rare species. Guests are welcome to pick produce & herbs.

All linen is provided unless guests prefer a tariff quoted without. The adjoining flat, when requested, offers great flexibility for more Queen beds or singles - up to another 4 guests.
