Sefton House is a unique Australian Historical experience and goes back in history to the gold rush era, droving, Hume and Hovell explorers, Snowy Mountains Scheme, etc.Whilst staying at Sefton house you can walk to all of Tumuts wonderful shops, cafes, Tumut River, swimming pool, Tumut bowling club , parks and showpiece gardens etc.

If you wish to drive, Mt Selwyn Skiing Fields are only 1 hour from Sefton House. The entrance to Blowering Dam, Yarrangobilly Caves and Kosciusko National Park is only 10 minutes from Sefton House. You can visit the power station, go fishing, bush walking snow and water skiing, caving and thermal pool etc.The towns around Tumut are Talbingo, Batlow, Adelong, Gundagai and Tumbarrumba, and they each have their own charm, heritage and culture. Tumut is the main town and offers the most shopping, restaurants, clubs and everyday necessities.

Why not do the Famous Loop Drive starting from Sefton House: drive to Batlow, then Tumbarumba, continue along the Elliot Way Alpine Road which travels along mountain lakes and the top of the mountains with scenery you'll never forget, then continue to Mt Selwyn Skiing Resort, then Yarrangobilly Caves, then Talbingo Dam and then back into the Tumut Valley where your comfortable and luxurious accommodation at Sefton House awaits you.
