Three private luxury self-contained cottages, each overlooking the Goobarragandra River make Elm Cottage a magical holiday destination. The property takes you away from the city and helps you to slow down, relax and enjoy nature at its own pace.

Each of the three cottages, River Gum, Red Gum and Blue Gum have a different configuration, but each is private and you feel like you're the only ones there.

River Gum, accommodates 7 people. The cottage is fully self contained with reverse cycle heating and cooling. It has a lounge with TV, DVD, VCR & CD player, dining room, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, internal laundry with washing machine, dryer and extra shower, another full bathroom with bath, plus a huge balcony with your own BBQ and outdoor setting which has 180° views of the river below and rural surrounds.

River Gum From 380 to $420pn.

Red Gum our large 2 bedroom luxury cottage,(sleeps 4) has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave etc., separate dining room, lounge room with TV, DVD, VCR, and CD player. Full reverse cycle air conditioning and a laundry with washing machine and dryer. You have a huge balcony with BBQ and outdoor setting overlooking the river below.

Red Gum From $275 to $295pn

Blue Gum, is also fully self contained. The cottage has reverse cycle heating and cooling, dining area, lounge room with TV, VCR, DVD and CD player. Internal laundry with washing machine and dryer and has a very large balcony with your own BBQ and outdoor setting with 180° views of the river and surrounds.

Blue Gum from $195 to $220pn.

A CD, video, DVD, and book library is available so you can pick a movie or movies to watch and just return on your departure. We have a good selection for both adults and children. Plus a variety of games in each of the cottages for your enjoyment.

Tea, coffee, & sugar supplied.

Words can't measure the wonderful experience we've had in this place. The combination of your superb hospitality and the wonderful cottage and scenery is priceless. Please don't get bored of seeing us here, as this place would be our prime holiday destination.

Locality

4 hours from Sydney, 2.5 hours from Canberra, 1.5 from Wagga Wagga, or 1 hour 40 minutes from Canberra via the Brindabella Road. Located 14 kilometres from the township of Tumut, Elm Cottage is a good meeting point for families from Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne.

Head along the Hume Highway to Gundagai (or over the Brindabella Road from Canberra) and follow the signs to Tumut. From Tumut, head towards Cooma on the Snowy Mountains Highway and take a left turn into Tumut Plains Road, cross a number of one-lane bridges (including a heritage bridge) and then take a left into Little River Road. Follow this along for approx 7 kms until you go down a steep hill, you’ll see a sign for Elm Cottage on your right, and just keep following the signs. Don’t forget to shut any gates that are shut and if they are open, leave them that way.

Elm Cottage is set on 62 acres of prime grazing land in the magnificent Goobarragandra Valley, with 2 miles of the river bordering the property.

Privacy, peace and tranquility assured. Wonderful birdlife, and to see a wombat, echnida and platypus in their natural habitat is regarded by many of our guests as a special experience.

Plenty of space to park your car and boat for fishing trips to Blowering and Jounama dams.
