Blue Gum cottage (4 star) has a queen size bed in the main bedroom and a double bunk in the second bedroom. Lounge room, eat in area, fully equipped kitchen, laundry with washing machine and dryer, and bathroom with shower. Reverse cycle heating and cooling, TV, DVD, VCR, and CD player. You also have a large balcony with BBQ overlooking the river below.

A CD, video, DVD, and book library is available at no charge so you can pick a movie or movies to watch and just return on your departure. We have a good selection for both adults and children.

Being rated "4 Star " there is nothing to bring except groceries (linen and towels included) which can be purchased here in Tumut as we have both Coles Supermarket (open to midnight) and Woolworths (open to 10pm), Sundays 8.30 and 8.00pm respectively.

Elm Cottage is located approximately half way between Sydney and Melbourne, and just 14kms from the township of Tumut nestled in the magnificent Goobarragandra Valley.

The Tumut Region offers activities for everyone year round, from skiing at Mt Selwyn in winter, to fishing, kayaking, and all water sports in summer.

Fishing - the Goobarragandra River offers some of the most beautiful spots to enjoy a day trout fishing along with the Tumut River and Blowering Dam stocked with yellowbelly and cod and freshwater lobsters.

Kosciusko National Park, Yarrangobilly Caves, Buddong Falls, Talbingo with the Tumut 3 Power Station, Batlow famous for its apple and stonefruit orchards, Adelong a heritage town famous for its goldming past are all just 40 minutes from Elm Cottage.

Tumbarumba with its wineries, the Boggy Creek show and the Berry Farm reknown for its pancakes are an hour from the property.

Go bushwalking along the famous Hume and Hovell walking track or try a more challenging walk through the high country in Kosciusko National Park, mountain bike riding, hang gliding or play a game of golf at Tumut's picturesque yet challenging 18 hole golf course.

Mt. Selwyn snowfields offers 13 lifts toboganning, cross country skiing and is regarded as the perfect ski resort to "learn to ski" with runs to suit first timers, intermediates and the more advanced skier.

Elm Cottage is set on 62 acres of prime grazing land in the magnificent Goobarragandra Valley.

Each cottage has views over a different section of the Goobarragandra River, which winds its way for 2 miles through the property. Listen to the soothing sound of trickling water, or watch the breeze as it rustles through the trees as you have pre-dinner nibbles on the verandah.

All cottages are beautifully appointed with large covered decks overlooking the river and vast expanses of countryside beyond. Watch the wonderful sunsets, see the sheep go by, stroll down to the river for a swim, a picnic, to try your hand at fishing, or even try your luck in a canoe when the river is up. Elm Cottage is a wonderful place to see the real Australia!
