The Cabin is a self-contained one-bedroom house that was built from the old farm Dairy (milking shed) many many years ago. The original concrete slab and foundations are still in place and offer a rough and rustic appeal to the accommodation. Over the years bits have been added to the original structure so that there are now weatherboards on the inside and an interesting variety of windows, doors and walls that altogether make up a rather interesting and appealing overall effect.
The Cabin is a fully solar-powered residence with the electricity supply coming from Solar Panels and a bank of batteries and your water supply comes from collected rainwater, in exactly the same way as we live in the main house, albeit on a smaller scale.
This is a self-serve accommodation, so you will need to bring your own food supplies, and there are a couple of general stores close by if you need anything extra.

Pet-FriendlyAlthough we do not allow pets in the cabin itself, dogs are welcome and there is a large kennel provided just outside for shelter. During the day you can let them roam freely in our orchard which has 2m high fences and gates and they are provided with a kennel shelter and water. At all other times they must be under your control. We are sorry, but cats cannot be accommodated at this time. Other caged animals (hamsters, rabbits etc) are welcome, but must also live in the kennel outside. We have a couple of aviaries for birds. Goldfish are OK and can stay inside. Other weird creatures by arrangement.

This is a paralysis tick area, so ensure that your pet is up to date with tick-prevention remedies ActivitiesThere are 12 acres of native bush at the back of the property with a trail running along it which makes a nice morning walk (1.5km to there and back which sounds a lot, but only takes about 20 minutes). If you’re really keen, take the shortcut through the paddocks and up what we like to call ‘heartbreak hill’ ‘cos it’s really steep.
We are located only 7 minutes from the beautiful beach at Mystery Bay (and you can get a glimpse of the ocean from here) where you can swim in the natural lagoon and fish off the rocks.
Should you arrive at the right time and are feeling fit and keen, you might want to take a walk up to the top of Gulaga (Mt Dromedary). It’s about a 5 hour walk to the top and back with spectacular views of the surrounding districts and a magical mossy fairyland near the summit. Definitely a must-see if you can.
Apart from that, just relax, wander around and partake in our own brand of country hospitality and take the opportunity to visit the local sights. We’re more than happy to impart a bit of local knowledge to help you make the most of your stay.

The cabin sleeps normally up to 2 persons, with a double-bed in the main bedroom, but there is also a fold-out sofa-bed in the lounge for up to two extra persons to be accommodated.
All linen is provided.
Minimum booking length is 2 nights.
$90/night off-peak, $130/night peak (Dec-Jan + Easter). Weekly discounts apply - $540/wk off-peak, $780/wk peak.
Linen surcharge of $10 per guest per night applies for each extra adult (12yrs+) where more than 2 persons are staying.
