Tor Cottage and Anketell Forest give you the space and peace to be yourself. As our guests you can walk private bush tracks, enjoy the views from boulder outcrops, watch wildlife, visit nearby fishing, heritage, wine-making and natural areas, or spend your time enjoying the cosy comfort of your quiet private cottage.

Features:
Sleep in comfort on a solid timber handmade Anketell Forest queens size bed and comfy firm mattress. 100% cotton linen supplied.

Cuddle up around the fire. Ready to light on your arrival with a wood pile just outside.

Spa for two. Soak away your cares while enjoying the view through large windows. Thick luxury towels supplied.

Entertainment with books, a dvd or music. No TV, internet or mobile reception.

Relax on the deck. Light the bbq, enjoy a glass of wine at the deck bar, kick back on the day beds, sing arias to the sunset.

Living facilities include: open plan living with corner spa; separate bathroom with shower and toilet; kitchen with gas-top stove, electric oven, microwave, fridge, and kitchen ware.

Dogs are welcome! We do not have a fenced area but we do allow dogs inside with you. $10 per dog per night. Please bring feed bowls and bedding for your canine friends. Please keep dogs on a leash when walking the property (for the safety of wildlife and your pooch) and do not leave dogs alone in the cabin. Some dog sitting available if you wish to take in the local sights without fido. Please enquire with your booking.

Healthy & Hearty Breakfast Baskets available from $40 per couple.

Groups and large family gatherings can hire the entire property which includes The Shearing Shed at Anketell Forest, as well as van and tent camping on the property.

We enjoyed a relaxing three day break in this private, peaceful and picturesque hideaway. Tor Cottage is comfortable and spotless. Thank you for your hospitality and for allowing our four legged friend to enjoy Anketell too.

Around the area

Bolivia Hill and Deepwater are part of the northern New England Tablelands.

Only 25mins south of Tenterfield, 45mins north of Glen Innes or 2hrs west of Grafton, Anketell Forest is nearby dozens of vineyards, a number of national parks and nature reserves (sub-tropical to sub-alpine) and many historic and heritage areas.

Fishing, fossicking, food and wine and bush-walking are all nearby.

Anketell Forest is managed as a wildlife refuge and is an integral part of the vital Deepwater/Bolivia Hill bio-region and wildlife corridor linking the north eastern coastal ranges with the western slopes. Its rugged and beautiful hills are home to a multitude of rare species including many listed as vulnerable or endangered.

Enjoy bush-walks, bird-watching and botany. Commission a piece of Anketell Forest furniture made by Steve from fallen hardwood salvaged from the property and milled on-site. Paint using one of our complementary easels. High quality art canvases are stretched on-site and available at competitive prices.
