Cottage, Bed & Breakfast, Self-contained apartment


This charming 1840's stone cottage was one of the first settler's homes built in the Barossa Valley.

Rich with local history and many original features, this house was home to the Sonntag family for many years. The thick stone walls, floors of flagstone and polished floorboards, quaint colonial windows and the remains of the old black-kitchen fireplace are reminders of days gone by. The old Pear and Pepper trees still remain in the cottage garden.

The Local Heritage Listed home is now a charming bed and breakfast. The cottage offers sole occupancy with complete privacy, accommodating up to 5 guests.

The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with one queen bed and one single bed. All beds have quality white linen.

The bathroom caters for all abilities with grab rails in the shower, a hand held shower rose and a plastic chair if required, to a large claw-foot bath ideal for relaxing in at the end of a days sight seeing in the Barossa. All quality linen is supplied.

The living room is equipped with TV, DVD player and DVD'S, along with games, books, and magazines. A pot belly wood fire is often lit during the winter to create a real country feel. R/C air-conditioning is provided for your comfort.

Step back in time in the kitchen with the original wood stove, slate floor and the curtain covered cupboards. There are the mod cons including an electric stove, oven and microwave. Quality crockery, cutlery etc are provided.
Full breakfast provisions of local Barossa produce are provided, including local smoked bacon, wood oven bread and free range eggs.

There are full laundry facilities including washing machine, clothes dryer, iron and ironing board, washing detergent is supplied.

A barbeque is provided in the vine enclosed courtyard.

Nestled in the historic village of Bethany, this delightful little cottage, offers a historic getaway, conveniently located near to many of the Barossa's attractions, and only minutes from the town of Tanunda.
