Cottage, Holiday house

We want Drift Inn to be a home away from home so you can make the most of everything Talbingo has to offer and then come home to a comfy, fun house.

* Fish Tales Pinball Machine, 60 in 1 Arcade Machine (both machines are set on FREE PLAY) & PS2 with games supplied.

We aim to be one of the most affordable premier holiday houses in Talbingo. We are slowly chipping away at our 'To Do' list of jobs and trust that you will enjoy Drift Inn as much as us.

LATEST NEWS -

Talbingo Lodge has re-opened under new management and I believe the food is just as good.

A brand new kitchen including a dishwasher has been installed.

The 60 in 1 arcade machine is in the house. With all the classics from the 1980's such as Frogger, Pacman, Galaga, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, Centipede and many more, teach the kids how it was done in 'our day' or step back in time and simply enjoy.

In other news, Austar is connected at Drift Inn to coincide with the arrival of a bigger (40") Samsung LED LCD Smart TV.

2 x new R/C air conds have also been installed in bedrooms 1 and 2 for your comfort.

Enjoy beautiful and relaxing bush walks in and around Talbingo and the Mt Kosciuszko National Park. Yarrangobilly Caves with a year round natural hot spring are about a 20 min drive away. Picnic at Jounama Creek which is about a 5 minute drive away. The Jounama creek picnic grounds are a hidden gem with a swimming waterhole. The crystal clear water runs straight off the mountain and can be very very chilly outside of summer.

Enjoy a peaceful paddle on Talbingo or Blowering Reservoir (All persons must wear lifejackets at all time as these waters are classed as Alpine Waters), Tumut River. Hire and Drive kayaks are available from Slide N Ride at Tumut.

All occupants of vessels under 4.8 metres in length must wear a lifejacket at all times. Children under 12 years of age must wear lifejackets in vessels up to 8 metres in length. Please check with Roads & Maritime Services for comprehensive requirements.

Family Friendly

Fenced/safe outdoor play area.

Drift Inn has some hidden extras for the young and young at heart. A Playstation 2 along with some games are provided as well as a full size Fish Tales pinball machine and 60 in 1 arcade machine.

We also have Austar installed.

The property is fully fenced. A modern children's playground is located a quick 3 or 4 minute walk down the road. The park also has toilet facilities, undercover BBQ and plenty of room to kick a footy around.

Fishing

Fishing spots available nearby, Located less than 5 mins walk to water, Located less than 5 minute drive to water, Boatramp within 5 minute drive, Boat hire available nearby.

The waters of Talbingo and Blowering Reservoirs are home to Trout, Murray Cod, Yellowbelly and Redfin. You are able to fish from the bank at Jounama pondage which is directly in front of the Talbingo township. No vessels of any sort are permitted on Jounama Pondage.

Catch and release fishing is preferred or else, just take what you can eat that day and head back out for another feed the next day.

9 hole golf course located in Talbingo, just try not to hit the Kangaroos with a wayward shot. Very reasonable green fees.

Motor Bike Friendly

Motor bike riders welcome, Motor bike parking available, Property is located on a sealed road.

There are plenty of spectacular road rides throughout the area and ample dirt roads or trails for dirt bikes. Drift Inn is a perfect location to base yourself for bike rides.

Snow Skiing

Less than 1/2 hour drive to ski fields.

Mt Selwyn Ski Fields are located about a 45 min drive away. Ample opportunities to stop along the way and let the kids out for a play in the snow if you don't want to go all the way to Mt Selwyn.

Ski Hire is available in Talbingo or in Tumut.

NB: Non 4WD vehicles must carry snow chains to access the snow fields. It is recommended that 4WD vehicles also carry snow chains. Please check weather forecast before heading up the mountain.

Wake boarding / water skiing

Wake boarding and/or water skiing facilities nearby, Boat ramp within 5 minute drive.

Enjoy the pristine waters of Talbingo and Blowering Reservoirs. Easy access to the water with several boat ramps along Blowering Reservoir and a good boat ramp at Talbingo Reservoir.
