Redcliffe House has grown from two C1835 farm cottages on 5.5 hectares 1.5 kms from Swansea, Redcliffe House offers a comfortable and spacious retreat from which to explore the Freycinet coast.

Bed & Breakfast

Redcliffe House started life in 1825 as two farm labourers' cottages. In later years the cottages were joined, and then a first floor was added. The property's owners have added beautiful gardens, including many unusual plants and fruit trees - including a vineyard. The grounds extend for 5.5 hectares and run along the Meredith river, which has some appealing picnic spots and a couple of permanent water holes that make great bathing pools. Our guests enjoy the serenity of the accommodation, and the great breakfasts! Although close to Swansea's restaurants and other facilities, Redcliffe offers a peaceful and comfortable retreat at the end of the day. Not suitable for infants.

Locality

Swansea, our local centre, is very much the central hub for visits to attractions on Tasmania's east coast. Swansea itself offers great dining, a historic Barkmill, bird walks, beaches, and a berry farm. Our touring area includes: Freycinet Peninsula for the beautiful Wineglass Bay, hiking, scenic flights, kayaking, abseiling, boat trips; Maria Island; Lake Leake for fishing and boating; Bicheno for boat hire, penguin tours; vineyards.
