Looking for somewhere to enjoy a full ‘English’ breakfast with water views that will keep you lingering over your coffee. Well we trust you’ll look no further than Freycinet Waters.
We're in the heart of Swansea. Decor and views that reflect the beautiful views of Oyster Bay experienced from the property. There is sure to be one a room that suits your needs and tastes.
Easy walk to all amenities including shops, restaurants, RSL club, sports, museum and the magnificent walking track around Waterloo Point.
Our B&B Waterview rooms each have their own veranda looking across the road to the bay. A great place to sit and unwind with a glass of wine and perhaps a fresh crayfish or oysters purchased on your travels.
The B&B spa room at the rear of the house has that bit extra room so that it can fit in our huge king size bed. This is for those who want to block out the world, cosy up together and enjoy a dvd or relax in the warm inviting bubbles of the two person spa bath.
First floor we have our self contained apartment. Four squares of space makes this ideal to spread out for a couple of days. Seperate bedroom, bathroom (with washing machine)& kitchen. A huge deck with waterviews. Our double glazed & insulated apartment keeps you warm in winter. It’s also the place for a late breakfast. As you cook your own breakfast (all provisions provided) you can eat as you require. Sadly you must be on your way by 10am
The B&B lounge allows you to relax with the combustion stove in winter. Listen to classical music while enjoying a fine red. In summer wander out to the front deck and gaze at the water and watch slow paced Swansea pass by.
"Breakfast like a king" with our provisions of: egg, bacon, tomato, sausage, mushroom. Sounds good, well why not be adventurous and add black pudding and haggis. Also included are: choices of cereal, fruit juice, fruit, yoghurt, toasted homemade bread, jam and marmalade.
For the evening, complimentary port in each room and each day the magic ‘port genie’ makes sure it’s to
Getting HereThe east coast road system is good and public transport is available although extremely limited.
When organising your travel please remember that in Tasmania it is easier to work out times at 70km per hour. This allows for all the bends Things To DoThe historic walk through town covers nearly 30 building. Included in the walk is the Glamorgan Community Centre built in 1860 which now houses a museum of local history
The Bark Mill - the only restored working Wattle Bark Mill in Australia. This has recently been given a major upgrade and is worth spending a few hours browsing through. Your entry fee is for a 24hr period, so if you run out of time you can return at your leisure to complete your visit.
If you’re in town on a Tuesday or Friday then the Historical Society is also a great place to wander through.
If you need a retail therapy moment then look no further than the Bear Cottage Crafts. Vivianne has a teddy to suit everyone. Plus a fantastic range of jewellery, china, scarves, wraps and so many other things. It may be the place where you need to leave the other half with a coffee and paper and the promise you won’t be too long!
Further along the road is Dos Vagabundos, a gem of a find for those looking for something totally different. John and Donnie have a fantastic collection of South American collectables. Definitely not what you thought to find in Tasmania but we doubt you’ll walk away without some purchase large or small.
Gallery 19 is also not totally Tasmanian. Suzanne has an extensive range of Asian and Oriental influenced goodies. There are too many to describe but well worth a meander through.
Not to be missed by those with a sweet tooth, just out of town (heading south) is Kate's Berry Farm. Kate has a well established reputation for jams, ice-cream, wine and country produce. Her bubbly enhancer is great for the champagne drinker in the family.
Mid-way between Hobart and Launceston, Swansea is on the east coast of Tasmania. AssociationsITOT
