LocalityPhillip Island is just under 2 hours leisurely drive by car from the City of Melbourne, Victoria. It is one of Australia's most popular tourist destinations for day trips or longer stays. A broad variety of activities exist for the family or adult tourists. Each night (all year) you can visit Phillip Island Penguin Parade, containing a world class visitor (tourist) center complete with cafe, gift shop, museum and interactive educational computer displays.
Boardwalks at the Penguin Parade Visitor Centre lead through the sand-dunes to the beach. At dusk you can watch the Little (fairy) Penguins surf in on the tide, waddle up the beach and return to their burrows. Very cute!
Other eco-tourism and natural attractions for tourist's are open daily to the public. Mamy are now managed by environmentaland research organisation Phillip Island Nature Park (PINP). Included are Koala Conservation Center, Churchill Island, Rhyll Inlet, Swan Lake, Seal Rocks, The Nobbies plus many free public walks. Visit historic shipwrecks, surf or explore wild ocean or quiet bay beaches.
Phillip Island is the home of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP) and World Superbike (WBSK) Round. AVESCO's V8 Supercars also race at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. Each day tourist's are welcome at the Circuit's tourism complex with its special motorsport display, cafe, giftshop and museum. We are ideally located between the fishing village of San Remo and the main town of Cowes where there's lots of action!
