Cottage, Holiday house

From stunning beaches and mountain wilderness to 174 kms of stunning lake foreshore, there is so much to enjoy and explore. Lake Macquarie offers a slower pace of life and is the perfect place for a relaxing break.

The Lake Mac Holiday Shack is truly unique. Do you enjoy soaking in a deep, warm bath, secluding yourself in the hideaway loft, whipping up breakfast in the café-style kitchen? Relax in the spacious lounge room with books, CDs, DVDs and magazines. Gaze out of the floor-to-ceiling cathedral-style windows to the bush and swimming pool. Try your hand at the barbeque as you relax on the deck then cuddle up in the airy master bedroom.

The house includes the following home entertainment appliances: board games; a DVD player; a PlayStation 2; a stereo system with cassette tape and CD player; and a television with digital set-top box. Wireless Internet available.

Gas, column and split-system heaters also supplied.

Also supplied in the kitchen are herbs and spices, coffee, tea and fresh bread making facilities and supplies, along with other kitchen staples.

Are you ready to explore beyond the cottag? Situated only 200 metres from Lake Macquarie, the house is also ideal as a base for boating, fishing, waterskiing or yachting. Grab a jacket and a thermos and walk to the jetty at Sunshine Baths to watch the sunrise over the lake. There are also many short bush walks around the area to enjoy with lovely scenic lake views.

Pack a picnic and take a camera to Morisset Hospital, only a few kilometres away. The hospital is on waterfront, picturesque hills and home to hundreds of kangaroos.

Within an hour's drive, you can explore the wineries and restaurants of the Hunter Valley, beautiful, sandy beaches along the coast, the hub of Newcastle, and the pristine beauty of the Watagans National Park -

Around the peninsular there are short bush tracks - great for fun and adventures, and burning off that energy!

Both the local wharf good and Casuarina Point are within and walking distance and great for fishing, picnics, collecting shells, building sandcastles and wading in calm water.

In Sunshine itself there are some lovely bush tracks that wind around the peninsular. Approximately 20 minutes drive away you enter the Watagan National Park where there is an abundance of bush walking opportunities.

Public transport within 5 minute walk, Public transport within 10 minute walk, Bus service, Train service.

Approximately 500 metres away is the local Sunshine bus stop. A bus can be caught from this location into Morisset, where there is a train station. Trains here go to both Sydney and Newcastle.

At the Lake Mac Holiday Shack we can provide plenty of toys and small outdoor toys for young children. We also have a large sheltered sandpit area with plenty of buckets, spades and trucks for the children to play with. There are also boxes of lego, blocks and other toys that can be provided. The pool is wonderful in summer for kids to splash around in. It has steps on one side which help younger children who just want to wade, with supervision of course. There is also a small selection of young children's DVDs to watch.

Fishing spots available nearby, Located less than 5 mins walk to water, Boatramp within 5 minute drive, Boat storage/parking available onsite.

We are situated just a short stroll to the lake. There is a jetty nearby, and a boat ramp approximately 1 kilometre away at Sunshine Park. There is room to park a boat either under the house or on the front lawn.
