"This property is a stand out, not only because of it's location but also because it is a holiday house for the owners which means it comes Fully equipped. The cottage was extremely comfortable and beautifully managed with potbellies ready to light and a fantastic spa. Our kids (2.5 and 6yrs) loved the spa and were safe to run around the yard. Do yourself a favor and stay at this cottage for a week!"

"We had a most enjoyable three nights at Island View Spa Cottage. It's seclusion, privacy and bushland setting with outstanding distant coastal views were complimented with the wonderful cottage perched high on a hillside. The interior had all that you needed for comfort and relaxation, including the absolute luxury of a spa on the outdoor deck that took in the wonderful scenery. Generous breakfast provisions were included and if the weather was inclement a wood heater provided a cosy atmosphere to relax and enjoy the books, music and videos that were available. A great place to stay and only 2km from Smithton town centre."

"This is a one in a million - well, one in a hundred at least - place to stay. The location is fabulous, on a hillside overlooking the estuary of the Duck river with views out to the Bass Strait.The cottage has all comforts, is very nicely furnished, plentifully stocked with games and books, and we were supplied with so much food for our breakfasts that we couldn't possibly get through it all.
At night there is a possum invasion on the deck outside, the only downside of which is the leaving presents that you find scattered around in the morning. This takes the allure of the spa bath on the deck away a bit, when you know that a possum has poo'd in it!
Easily the best place we have stayed at, of about a dozen apartments we have booked in the past several months."

"If you are visiting Tassie, this place is worth the detour. Our Tassie trip was 4 weeks and this was the best place we stayed, even better than 5 star luxury heritage B&Bs. The website doesn't (probably can't) do justice to the location/position of the cottage. Be warned - you'll just want to sit on that verandah, gaze at the view, drink your wine, and feed the possums in front of the fire when it gets dark. Score 11/10."

We had no problems with the possums but the paddy melons were a bit daring. Absolutely loved everything about this cottage. Great place for our 33rd wedding anniversary. and saw the view. Wonderful! And it changes all the time - the estuary is
tidal.
This is a lovely spot, and surprisingly convenient for the town and for

"I would like to thank Micheal and Grace greatly for allowing us and others to enjoy this little piece of paradise! We had an amazing and relaxing time, and we were very disappointed that we could only stay one night. The view was spectacular, from both the deck and the spa!!! The house was so comfortable and inviting, with everything you could need and more (3 output speakers system - even on the deck- fantastic)!
We had planned on eating out, but decided to have a BBQ instead so that we didnt miss a minute of the sunset over the bay, supurb!
We would definitely recommend this quiet, secluded spot to anyone wanting to get away from it all. LOVED IT!"

"Delightful accomodation, well thought out to take advantage of the view and position.The cottage which is within 1 1/2 k's of smithton would have been better if it had been within 1 1/2 k's of Stanley with all it's great eateries and facilities. Smithton wasn't a very stimulating place."
