Self-contained large home, with a North-facing aspect in a VERY private setting with rainforest in the backyard.

Currawong Chorals Rainforest Retreat is close to many of the major attractions that fabulous Springbrook has to offer. Just a few minutes walk to 'Canyon Lookout' and walking trails winding through rainforest, over and behind water falls. A short drive to everything else... including 'Purling Brook Falls Lookout' (4 mins) and 'Best Of All Lookout' (5 mins).

Nestled amid 6,000m2 of private bush land, this large 4-bedroom home offers absolute privacy and a variety of birds and wildlife at your door.

Springbrook Mountain

High in the Gold Coast hinterland, Springbrook is home to ~200 species of birds, magnificent World Heritage Listed rainforests with ancient Antarctic Beech trees.

Get back to Nature and de-stress as you explore the variety of walking tracks, cascading water-falls, and trickling creeks. Or, just "kick back" in an environment you'll probably want to "take home" with you.

Breathe the fresh mountain air as you take in the variety of panoramic views on offer. 'Canyon Lookout' offers the Gold Coast skyline and Springbrook National Park. At the 'Best Of All Lookout', you stand on the rim of a long-extinct volcano, and enjoy views from the Gold Coast to Byron Bay, including Mt Warning.

With many other popular attractions on offer too – there's so much to see, one weekend won't be enough – you'll be back (or stay an entire week and completely de-stress - ask us about our special weekly, and/or Midweek, rates).

Spend an evening at the Observatory (5-min drive) gazing at the stars or be fascinated by the Glow Worms (2-min drive) - but bookings are essential for each and admission fees may apply.

Birds frequent the bird-feeding trays mounted along the veranda - great for those photographing or sketching - and a variety of bird seed is provided complimentary. Should you wish to bring some mince, for some of the bigger birds, please only bring premium mince and preferably free-range.

In addition, the property is only a short-walk to World Heritage Listed Springbrook National Park which offers many bushwalking and hiking experiences, with plenty of fascinating lookouts, water-falls and swimming holes.

Eco-friendly

World Heritage Listed Springbrook National Park surrounds the property and offers many bushwalking and hiking experiences, with plenty of fascinating lookouts, water-falls and swimming holes.

A recent refurbishment of the home saw, wherever possible, energy consumption reductions and improvements in lighting and heating, as well as with some appliances. Water and waste is independent from any town connection, i.e. rain supplies the water and waste is biologically treated on site.

Wherever possible, Chemical-Free and Non-Animal-Tested natural soaps and cleaners are provided for guests and used when cleaning the property. Plus any paper-based consumables supplied are made from recycled fibres.

Recycling bins are provided for guests and any recycleable items that can't be recycled (by the caretaker) at community facilities on the mountain are stored on the premises and periodically transported to Brisbane for recycling.

All of our promotional material is printed on Australian Made, 100% recycled Post-Consumer Waste Paper and printed by an environmentally aware printer. We proactively encourage other local businesses and tourist information operators to follow suit.

Rooms and rates

We don't "multiple book" - whether you are two, or ten, it will only be you (and your guests) occupying the retreat. Following rates are for 2 night stays:-
King Suite (for a couple) is $230 pn (weekends) - up to 8 extra guests
Deluxe Queen (couple) is $180 pn (weekends) - up to 4 extra guests
Std Queen (couple) is $155 pn (weekends) - 2 extra guests
(Extra guests are an average $20 per person per night).

Weeknight rates are less expensive, except one-night stays which have been lifted, as the first night effectively pays our costs with little left over after covering the costs of "opening up". A second night thus becomes really good value. Enquire for special LOW rates for midweek stays. Extra special discount for longer stays.
