Guest Reviews

"Lovely surroundings, modern well-maintained cottage and gracious hosts. This is an excellent place to base yourself to explore Southern Tasmania. Highly recommended."

"The accomodation was situated to give you complete privacy There are grassed areas around the cabin which means you are able to longe around outside as well as in the cabin. There is a BBQ provided and you are able to buy locally produced produce from the local shop, which is part of the hotel.. The wild life and birds were everywhere. The hosts had provided delicious breakfast provisions for the first morning which included home made bread and local produce. Southport was an excellent town to explore the caves, Cockle Creek and the Tahune Airwalk from.Every evening after a big day exploring the various areas,we returned to our cabin , sat in front of a warm fire and relaxed. Birdwatchers paradise!"

"Southern Forest Accommodation is a wonderful place to stay. In our opinion it was the very best B&B we have stayed at .... everything was just right -- peacefulness, space, comfort, cleanliness, easily accessible plentiful information in written form supplemented any time we needed it by Barb and Steve in person ... all this without feeling like we were living in something overly precious. The balance was just right. Steve and Barb are just cut out for the B&B industry and we loved finding this place and staying there. We had the chance to try both the B&B and the cottage and its a hard choice to make. Add to this that Southport and south is wonderful to explore ... we most definitely hope to return to stay here again."

"Great tranquil location to base yourself while visiting the region. Allow at least five days though - many walks and nature-based atractions. History is fascinating and the info provided at Southern Forest Accomodation about the area was brilliant."

"During our tour around Tasmania, we stayed in a wide variety of places, ranging from caravan parks to 4 star hotels. Out of all the places we stayed in, Southern Forest B&B was up there with the best of them. The quality of accommodation was excellent, the value for money was the highest out of all the places we stayed. Their breakfast was truly awesome. Steve and Barbara really know how to make guests feel at home right from the moment they arrive. Overall we give them a 9.5/10 for the time we stayed there."

"We had a delightful stay at the Southern Forest B&B. The hosts were so friendly and helpful, the breakfast was quite good and nicely presented, and the location was beautiful and peaceful. After having spent two weeks in downtown Sydney it was so good to be where the only sounds were the wind in the trees, raindrops on the roof, and the birds! I highly recommend Southern Forest. "
