Fishing off beach for whiting, mullet, flatheads and Salmon or off nearby rocks for Trevally and Sweep.
Boat launch off the beach - 4wd only.

Self contained 4 bedroom house- One Queen bed, two double beds and three double bunks sleeping 12 people.

Large gas BBQ supplied to enjoy the outside dining on the balcony.

Slow combustion wood heater - wood supplied.

Eco friendly - Solar powered lights, CD/radio, fan and power points.
- Gas fridge/ freezer, hot water and stove.
- Please note solar power will not run heating appliances like hair dryers.


No TV but books and games provided. (Great for the kids to get back to nature and family fun.)

Thankyou so much we have had a wonderful holiday on ki and really enjoyed the fantastic isolation and tranquility of D'Estrees Bay.
please dont change a thing this location is divine and the the house is perfectly adequate in every way. We loved the fact that it is so environmentally friendly.
My son found 3 Nautilus shells while beachcombing here. We all loved the wallabies, goannas and sealion visits.
Had great fun fishing off the beach and caught a whiting.

Beach


This property is beachfront, Beach views.

Our house is located on the beachfront of D'estrees Bay with uniterrupted views of beach and ocean. There is miles of beach to walk along with few people. You are literally 20 metres from the front of house to the beach. you can supervise older children from the balconey of the house. The beach is usually very calm in front of the house but there are other good swimming beaches a few minutes drive up the coast with waves for older children. There is even a popular local surfing spot 5km away.

Birdwatching


Bird-watching available on-site, Information provided on local bird population and sightings.

You can see many birds from the balconey that live on the beach and scrub. We had guests that stayed and identified up to 100 different birds in the area and wrote them in our visitors book.
The house is located on the beach and within a conservation park.
D'estrees Bay also has a huge osprey nest on top of a craggy rock off the beach and resident pair of osprey that nest here every year.
We have a birds of Australia book in house to help identify the bird species.
Also located 10km from house is Murrays lagoon National Park with information and ranger on site. There are also walking trails in the area.

Bushwalking & wilderness


Bushwalking and wilderness experiences located nearby, Located within a National Park.

our house is located within a conservation park. There are walking trails nearby, and it is also possible to walk along the coast tracks where ther are some popular seal rocks. Or you can just walk on the beach for miles.
There is a ranger office at nearby Murray's Lagoon with information and trails.

Eco-friendly


Building made from ecologically friendly materials, Solar powered accommodation, Bio-diverse setting, Recycling facilities available.

Our house is solar powered with gas for cooking and hotwater.
It has basic facilities and no TV but plenty of games and books so you can really enjoy the peace, tranquility and wildlife of the beach setting.
Most people that stay comment on how relaxing it is and a great place to de- stress and get back to nature.

Fishing


Fishing available on-site, Fishing spots available nearby, Located on waterfront, Located less than 5 mins walk to water, Boatramp within 5 minute drive, Boat storage/parking available onsite.

You can fish off the beach right outside the house and there is a beach launch for boats 200m away, for 4wd vehicles only. There is space at house to park a boat trailer, and you can anchor the dinghy out the front of the house on the beach during the day.
There is also opportunity to fish off the rocks and other beaches like wheatons and wreckers beach a few km along the coast from the house.
people who have stayed have caught garfish, salmon and whiting off the beach.

Gay & Lesbian friendly

Our property is islolated and secluded for all couples looking for a peaceful holiday away from the crowds. Get back to nature with lots of wildlife and walks on the beach for miles without seeing another person.

Romantic getaway

Our house provides seclusion and long walks on the beach right from your doorstep. We also provide two bottles of complimentary wine from our KI vineyard on arrival.

Scuba diving


If you have your own gear there is a few great spots for diving with plenty of fish life 5km from our house.

Waterfront


Absolute waterfront, Expansive water views, Accommodation within 50 metres of waterfront available.

Our property is 20 metres from the beach, nestled into a small cliff at back. you have uninterupted views of the beach and ocean. It is fantastic to listen to the ocean at night and feel the cool breeze off the sea through your window.

Windsurfing/Kitesailing


Windsurfing and/or kitesailing available on site.

Our property is on the beach with normal on shore breeze from the south east making it a safe place to windsurf. You can pull your gear the 20 metres from shore to the house or leave it on the beach while you have lunch on the balconey then straight back out for the afternoon.
