Our cosy cottage is a replica of a Federation home complete with homely log fires, polished timber floors and ceilings and it is tastefully furnished with antique furniture.

It is fully self contained complete with kitchen and laundry facilities.

It is two bedrooms (one with ensuite)and features a huge outdoor living area facing North with amazing 180 degree views out over Duck Bay, Bass Strait, Perkins, Robbins and Three Hummock Islands.

The expansive front verandah features a huge oval spa bath positioned in front of a cosy wood fired stove. It is pure meditation laying back in the hammock or spa enjoying a glass of wine in front of a roaring fire at sunset with the native birds providing a natural surround sound experience that no sound system could match.
Locality
Take a look at your map and you'll see that Island View Spa Cottage is quite central to North West Tasmania's major attractions including:

"Stanley"(a beautiful award winning historic fishing village nestled at the base of a volcanic plug) only 15 minutes East

The magical "Tarkine Wilderness"(the largest temperate rain forest in Australia)only 20 minutes South.

"Dismal Swamp"(A new multi million dollar slide and maze created by Forestry Tasmania in the heart a huge blackwood rainforest reserve) only 25 minutes West.

"Arthur River Cruises"(A incredibly serene journey on a mirror like reflective River flanked by a wall of virgin rainforest up to the junction of the Frankland River and back) 55min West.

"Woolnorth Tours"(A guided bus tour of the historic and expansive farm established by "Van Diemans Land co",Australia's oldest running company since 1825. This tour takes you to the most N/Western tip of Tassie where you can breath what the csiro have proven to be the purest air in the world.)The tour leaves from Smithton, only 2km South.

"Allandale Gardens"(A beautiful award winning garden at Edith Creek) only 15 minutes South.

"Dip Falls and the Big Tree" (A huge three tiered Waterfall. The Big Tree is
a great example of Tassie"s massive forest giants, which a the biggest hardwood trees in the world. They can reach heights of up to 90 metres and a circumference of up to 20 metres) only 35 minutes South East.

Our part of the state also boasts some of Australia's best beaches and fishing and would be possibly regarded as the seafood capital of Tasmania.

Our rich volcanic soil provides the majority of Tasmania's quality vegetable, beef and dairy produce.

So please consider staying an extra couple of days in what we belive to be the most beautiful and friendly part of our little slice of paradise, Tasmania.
