Beaches

Both Shelly Beach and Bridgewater Bay can be accessed directly from the house by a path meandering through native coastal wattle and Teatree. Bridgewater Bay is popular with surfers while Shelly Beach is favoured by rock fishermen and as its name suggests is noted for its many varieties of shells. A safe, patrolled surf beach is 2 minutes away by car. Many other beautiful unspoilt beaches are located in the area.

Local Attractions

The freshwater Bridgewater Lakes, ideal for swimming, canoeing, sailboarding and power boating are five minutes away, as are many interesting geological coastline features including the Blow Holes and the Petrified Forest. There are many walks one can do in the area which range in length and difficulty. The Great South West Walk passes the front of the house and provides access to a seal colony which can be observed from the cliff above. Boat trips to the seal caves are also available.

Day trips to local National Parks and reserves(Mt Richmond, Lower Glenelg, Discovery Bay, Saw Pit, Surrey Ridge)offer great picnic spots and wild life

Pet friendly

Small dogs (less than 11 kg) are permitted, Medium dogs (11 kg to less than 34 kg) are permitted, Large dogs (34 kg or heavier) are permitted, Pets are permitted inside, Food and water bowls provided.

Dogs are very welcome but we request that they not be allowed on furniture or beds. Dog owners are asked to bring their dogs own familiar bedding. Although the property is unfenced it is very isolated and set well away from roads, and straying is generally not a problem. For outside dogs there is a large covered deck ajoining the house. Full length windows ensure the dogs do not feel isolated from their family.
