Guest Comments: - No guest comment.
Belltrees Country House B & B was opened in 1988 by Peter White and his sister Camilla. Originally known as Belltrees Farm, a colonial Georgian-style residence, it was home to Michael and Judy White and their seven children for thirty years.
Peter and Serena welcome guests into their home, encouraging them to relax and enjoy the spectacular rural setting. There are two guest bedrooms of differing character, each with ensuite bathrooms.
Open fireplaces are lit in the living rooms in winter, and the cool, shady verandahs provide a pleasant place to sit and watch the sunset in the summer months.
In the elegant dining room guests may enjoy delicious, freshly prepared, country dishes. Alternatively, guests may choose to take a picnic and lunch on the banks of the Hunter River, or drive to the Barrington Tops, Lake Glenbawn or the Upper Hunter Wineries.
The White Cottage is situated on the banks of the Hunter River and is the ideal place for an intimate and private country escape, or just a great place to spend time with friends and family. Meals can be ordered from the Country House B & B and all Country House B & B activities are yours to enjoy.
The Munro Cottage is named after Mr. Bob Munro, a Belltrees employee who lived in the cottage with his family from the 1940s to the 1970s. Recently restored for use by Belltrees guests, Munro Cottage is the perfect place for visitors to relax and enjoy rural life.
The cottage has four bedrooms, a kitchen, a fireplace and can accommodate up to eight guests. Meals can be taken at the Country House B & B by prior arrangement. Food hampers can be delivered or you can bring your own food. As with all Belltrees cottages, guests at the Munro have use of the swimming pool and tennis courts at the Country House B & B 1 km down the Belltrees road.
PropertyAnother Belltrees worker’s cottage has been added to the accommodation register: The “Finch Cottage” has two-double bedrooms, open lounge room with fire place and a self contained kitchen. It’s fresh and airy and delightfully furnished. This Country Cottage is situated on the Hunter River with wonderful views to Mt Woollooma. It's ideal for families wanting an exit from the city.
he Mountain Retreat is a two bedroom, self contained, romantic hideaway 5,000 feet above sea level overlooking the Hunter Valley from Mt. Woolooma.
Panoramas surround you everywhere, and below, the Belltrees property unfolds, dotted with grazing stock.
The lounge room which reaches to the cliff's edge is sealed with floor-to-ceiling glass walls to maximize the spectacular views.
Thick pile carpet covers the floor and the sunken seating area around the open fire place.
Solar power, diesel generator, gas heating and fully equipped kitchen all play a part in making your experience a memorable one.
Meals are pre-prepared and you and your supplies are transported up the mountain by a 4WD vehicle. The 45 minute journey takes you through steep terrain inhabited by wallabies, kangaroos, wedge-tailed eagles and tiger cats (Eastern Quail). As the sun sets the world below becomes your own, to share with your partner, totally undisturbed. LocalityMany of our guests are happy to relax in our wonderful rural environment and enjoy a healthy wholesome country holiday. But when you want excercise, entertainment or action, there is no shortage of choices. On the Station you can swim in the pool, or the river, play tennis, hire a canoe on the Hunter River or simply explore the historic village.
Nearby on Lake Glenbawn, you can waterski or take joy rides in a jet-boat. Within a short drive there are vineyards, golf courses, the Barrington Tops National Park, rural tours and stud tours. Special events in the area include horse racing, uniquely Australian rodeos, a Jazz Festival, the Scone or Ellerston Polo tournaments and many others listed on our Calendar of Events.
Barrington Tops National Park is 45 minutes away.
