Lake Saint Clair Nature Retreat is a small resort with all the facilities of a much larger resort. Secluded caravan & camping sites with power & water, on suite cabins with queen size bed and futon,& great views over Lake St Clair. Salt water solar heated indoor swimming pool. 8 person spa pool, wood fired sauna. Fully equipped recreation building, full kitchen, entertainment lounge, wood fire. Table tennis, 8 ball table, darts. Bush & coastal walks on the 75 acre property.
Relax in a tranquil setting, listen to the birds or the waves hitting the outer reef.

I would like to express our gratitude to John & Monica it was our first ever resort visit and we couldn't have picked a better place to go.We were made welcome right from the get go & as our time there progressed, this notion was imprinted even more by the pleasant hospitality they presented all day every day,they truly made it feel like a home away from home. Region

The Limestone Coast covers an area of approximately 21,310 square kilometres in the south-eastern corner of the state. It stretches south from the Coorong National Park along a beautiful and rugged coastline to the Victorian boarder. It also includes inland pastoral districts and the Coonawarra Wine district. The area was named because of the underlying Limestone deposits that have been used as the foundation of many industries. It lies midway between the capital cities of Adelaide and Melbourne and is bounded by the Southern Ocean to the west and south, and the Victorian border to the east. Incidentally, Australia is the only Nation that recognises the Southern Ocean. To the rest of the world it is just part of the Indian Ocean. In June 2006, the Limestone coast region’s estimated population was 63,580 with a median age of 36 at Mt Gambier to 44 at Kingston. The area is one of the most productive in South Australia, with produce including Wine Grapes, vegetables, cereal grains, fish & livestock. Softwood timber is also grown in plantation forests which cover an area of approximately 100,000 hectares in total. Much of this produce and timber is also exported. Limestone Coast summers are warm to hot with mainly dry conditions and winters are crisp and wet. Lake Saint Clair Nature Retreat is situated right on the coast midway between the fishing towns of Robe and Beachport.

The natural attractions of the region include World Heritage caves, coastal dunes, lagoons and lakes, both fresh and salt-water. The Coorong and Canunda National Parks occupy vast stretches of the coast and cater for camping, fishing, four-wheel driving and of course quiet observation of the local flora and fauna. Lovers of seafood, such as lobster, will delight in local catches that can be purchased at Robe or Beachport.
Local attractions within an hours drive include Coonawarra and Mount Benson wineries. Seven first class golf courses

Property

Set on 75 acres of natural coastal bush land, the resort blends in with the natural enviroment.Walking tracks meander though the property and down to beach.
Although the sea is too cold for most to venture in too,the scenery and walk are excellent.
The resort has a number of secluded caravan and camping sites with power and water. The amenities block is modern, with disable facilities and laundry.
The cabins are newly constructed with kitchen, large bathroom toilet suite. Dining area, queen size bed and futon. Great views over Lake Saint Clair.
The fully equipped Rec. room is the social hub, where campers get together for morning tea or coffee and again for fives (happy hour which usually extents into evening).Most Saturdays we fire up the pizza oven and bake pizza's for campers to enjoy. Want to do your own pizza no worries go for it.
The sea is usually too cold for most,so why not take a dip in our solar heated indoor salt water pool. have a drink or two in the gas fired 8 person spa, let the bubbles soak away your troubles.
Try out the wood fire sauna, the gentle heat cleans out the pores and warms the bones.
