Holiday house

A 1950's brick house, Jetty House has been recently renovated in modern/retro style. It sleeps six people. Two bedrooms contain queen size beds and the third has two singles. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances. There is a large outdoor shaded pergola with table, chairs, BBQ, and outdoor shower. Herbs and fruit grow in the garden. The beach and jetty are 50 metres away. There are ten eateries within walking distance from the house.

Locality

Port Noarlunga is an historic township located about 35 kilometres south of the Adelaide CBD on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Jetty House sits adjacent to the jetty and reef, just north of the river and remaining sand hills. Further south along the mid-coast are the beaches of Seaford, Moana, Aldinga and Port Willunga. Inland are the famous wineries of McLaren Vale. For those travelling on further, the southern Fleurieu Peninsula has its own spectacular scenery and is the jump-off point for Kangaroo Island.
When the salmon are running there is standing room only on the Port Noarlunga jetty. This is a famous fishing spot. On a balmy, summer’s night, stroll to the end of the jetty to watch the sun set.
Four hundred metres from the beach, the reef stretches for 1.6 kilometres. It is a unique dive spot with an underwater trail in an aquatic reserve. The glassy water makes snorkelling equally rewarding, especially early in the morning. On a summer day it is common to see sailboats outside the reef, swimmers climbing the reef, and snorkellers, divers and kayakers all around it.
The boat ramp is just north of the jetty. To the south, stretches 1.8 kilometres of pristine white sand, which ends at a spit where the river emerges under the ochre red cliffs of Southport. The best, albeit inconsistent, surfing is at Southport.
The river estuary extends 10 kilometres inland to Old Noarlunga. You can kayak around the lagoons and flood plains to watch the bird life, which includes black swans and pelicans. Alternatively, you can head towards the river mouth and out through the breakers for an ocean kayak. Fishers and surfers share the river footbridge connecting the road to the beach.
