Part of the imposing and well-known Casa Alegre, the Casita is a self-contained 2000 sq ft apartment, only steps from the beach, delightfully decorated with 'a touch of Mexico' and comprising 2 bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed, 1 bedroom with 2 singles, 2 bathrooms (one ensuite), full bathroom with bath/shower and views down the coast.

Kitchen with 'full-frontal' views to the surf. Dining area overlooking beach with sliding doors opening to paved area for your outdoor leisure. Living area with LCD TV, DVD and CD player and the same stunning views of waves crashing over granite rocks, seals, dolphins and whales (June/July)... along with the ever-present surfers for your entertainment and delight!

Minutes along the famous (and stunningly beautiful) cliff walk to famous Horseshoe Bay and historic Port Elliot and a short drive to the old whaling town of Victor Harbor.

Convenient location for day trips to destinations like Kangaroo Island, many local wineries and challenging golf courses. Great local restaurants within walking distance. Take the cliff walk to
Flying Fish at Horseshoe Bay, famous for its award-winning flathead at the kiosk, or go upmarket in the main restaurant.
We've travelled the world, lived in Canada, Mexico, England and Ireland for over 20 years and we know Port Elliot is a special place. We've come home!

'There are plenty of beautiful things to keep your eyes occupied inside Casita Alegre... from the antique leather-covered chest in the living room to the brightly-coloured Mexican masks and watercolours.... but it's the view through the five huge windows, which stretch almost from floor to ceiling, that really steals your attention. In fact it's the reason I'm standing here in the living room at sunrise admiring the stunning view of the rugged outcrops and amazing colours spread along Knights Beach. Right in front of me the waves pound the granite rocks, throwing spray high in the air. We'd arrived the evening before, after an hour's easy drive south from Adelaide and soon we were ensconced on the comfy leather couch, sipping cold wine left for us as a welcome gift by the owners. After settling in, we took the time to explore the home we'd have for the next few days.

Casita Alegre's decor is modern Mexican and very stylish... rich earthy wall colours contrast with cobalt blue door and window frames. The extra tall doors are lime-washed to give the baltic pine a rustic look. It's a theme carried through into the well appointed kitchen.

The home is also tastefully decorated with beautiful art works. Down from the kitchen the lime-washed stairs lead to the lounge room, where we discover that the leather chest houses a huge telescope for keeping an eye out during whale-watching season. Outside is a patio with a picnic table, more views and fresh salty air. Just around the corner there's an undercover hot tub.
We tear ourselves away from all this luxury to take a short trip to town to stock up on provisions and explore the cafes, pubs and bookshops.

But we soon find ourselves back at our beachside villa, taking in that view!'
