Last minute booking for a weeks stay, but we were very happy with the outcome. We weren't sure if being a bit out of the main section of town would be a problem, but the walk along the beach or the local bus were great options. Locally, Beach Shack and OTZ provided great pizza and coffee respectively! Dreamcatchers apartments were comfortable (great big bed!), clean, roomy and generally quiet. Very close to the beach - particularly good option. TripAdvisor.

Locality

Port Douglas is the closest land point to the Great Barrier Reef tours as well as Daintree Rainforest tours. Earlier pickup times begin from southern areas in Cairns passing through Port Douglas then Mossman for Daintree tours.

With a mutitude of world heritage sites to visit. The Great Barrier Reef is a must do while in Port Douglas. A variety of boat tours are available from day tours to private luxury charters, Port Douglas can cater to your needs on every scale.

The Daintree Rainforest is world heritage listed and has a history of over 350 million years, making it the oldest rainforest on earth. See native animals dating back in time, including the endangered Cassowary standing up to 7 feet tall and ageless 5 metre crocodiles inhabiting the Daintree River.
