Wallaby Lodge offers spacious self contained accommodation for up to eight people. 2kms from the Port Arthur Historic Site, with stunning views over Carnarvon Bay. You can spread out and relax in style. King, queen and singles suites. Cafe style kitchen, huge lounge, laundry facilities. Large wraparound balcony with outdoor barbecue, outdoor dining table to seat eight and adirondack chairs so you can unwind, take in the views and watch the wildlife. Great base from which to explore Port Arthur and the Tasman peninsula.

Locality

Port Arthur is on the Tasman Peninsula of Tasmania. It contains the soon - to - be World Heritage Port Arthur Historic Site, an old convict site with substantial ruins and a fascinating history, which runs guided tours throughout the day, ghost tours at night, cruises to the 'Isle of the Dead' and interactive displays for international visitors. Tickets to the site last for two days to allow time to explore it fully. The area is a mecca for bushwalkers with 35 tracks on the Peninsula, and famous for wildlife and scenic sea cruises. The area has great fishing and water sports opportunities and a wildlife park for the elusive Tasmanian Devil.

Wallaby Lodge is part of a 25 acre property set high on the hill overlooking Port Arthur, which contains 'Palmers Lookout,' an old Lookout with binoculars and picnic areas from which our guests can take in the magnificent views over the Port Arthur area. Guests are welcome to use the Lookout throughout their stay. The property has prolific wildlife including native Bennetts wallabies, wombats, opposums, rabbits, echidnas, pademelons, quolls and native birds. Especially in the late afternoon/evening you are sure to see the 'locals' moving around feeding in the grass.
