The cottages stand in the heart of the ancient and rugged Grampians ranges which have been an important Aboriginal meeting place for more than 5000 years. g rock art sites in south-east Australia.
The cottages are built on 42 hectares of virgin bushland, all of which are covenanted by the Trust for Nature. This means the resident flora and fauna will be forever protected for your enjoyment

Locality

Pomonal’s Bellfield House is named for nearby LakeBellfield, which has strong historic links with the Pomonal township. An old bridle trail still links the village with an historic water supply tunnel. Early European settlers painstakingly carved this tunnel by hand during the 1880s to carry life-giving water across the MountWilliam range.Today, the old bridle trail is a popular walking track continuing all the way to LakeBellfield (approximately four hours return walk). Along the way you’ll be treated to spectacular views from the top of the range, rare native plants and plenty of curious native animals.
