"Our stay in Sunset Retreat was great! It is located very near to the ferry terminal, walking distance to the Penguin Centre (which is a plus cos you really don't want to drive when it's dark). Walking distance to food, fuel, supermarket which provided lotsa convenience too.
An amazing sunset view from our room that we decided to do take out so that we can watch the sunset while having dinner. A very well-kept place, clean and cosy. And well-equipped too! Gail and Rob (owners) also gave us complete privacy which we really appreciate.
We would totally recommend Sunset Retreat. The only downside is that Penneshaw is not that ideal as a base because of its proximity from everywhere else."

The owners were very nice and helpful with good tips on what to see and where we could eat. Location was also great - an easy 10 minute walk into the town and down to the Penguin tour/beach! and within 5 minutes of the ferry terminal. although it was one of the more expensive B&B style places we stayed in, for Kangeroo Island it was quite reasonable and we thought that Sunset Retreat offered very good value for money."
