Island Retreat is your perfect haven on Kangaroo Island.

With superb views across the Backstairs Passage, this beautifully presented, well-appointed house on two hectares is just outside Penneshaw and the island's main ferry terminal.

Catering for up to three couples, Island Retreat comprises three bedrooms (two with queen beds and one with a double bed), two bathrooms, a spacious open plan lounge and adjoining dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. Outside, there is a 15-metre lap pool, barbecue and a large deck ideal for entertaining.

In the winter months unwind in front of the slow combustion fire with a glass of wine and a good book while looking out to ocean views. Or, have a fitness weekend (price on application) ; the owner is a fully accredited personal trainer who can show you some of the island's best running, walking and mountain bike trails or provide boxing, stretching and free weight sessions. Massages can also be booked to ease those aching muscles.

On request, full breakfast provisions and evening meals can be arranged; otherwise enjoy one of the dining options in nearby Penneshaw.

If you are looking for something more corporate, the lounge with its long dining table also offers an ideal venue for a board meeting and working lunches can be facilitated.

Whatever your choice, Island Retreat is the ideal base from which to explore Kangaroo Island's many treasures, including Seal Bay, the superb beaches on the island's north coast, Antechamber Bay and Cape Willoughby lighthouse - South Australia's oldest lighthouse.
