Sheerwater was originally a small holiday shack built in the 1950s. Since then it has been partially renovated and extended over the years to become a cosy 4 bedroom family holiday cottage with stunning ocean views. It is powered by a petrol generator and has a gas fridge/freezer, gas hot water and gas heater.

The main living room can be lit by a solar-powered light throughout the night. As it is a requirement of the Windy Harbour Management Committee that all generators be turned off by midnight.

It is fully self-contained with all crockery, cutlery, coffee plunger, pots and pans etc and a couple of wind-up torches for when you need to turn the generator off. It also has a small TV and DVD player. The roadside balcony houses a gas barbecue and outdoor seating. For safety of small children the balcony has a lockable gate.

We also have an excellent telescope that can not only view the rings around Saturn (if you know where to find it!), but it is also great for land viewing. Sandy Island is only five and a half kilometres off the coast directly in front of Sheerwater. A perfect way of seeing the island up close without getting wet or cold. See the fishermen and womens faces up close to see if they had a good days fishing as they come back in. If they're smiling a quick walk down to the boat ramp might score you a cheap fish for dinner. You won't get a fresher fish that's for sure! Even in the winter it's great being warm and snug in this cosy cottage watching the waves rise and fall.

Windy harbour is a sleepy coastal holiday settlement that becomes a busy little fishing port at Easter time and during school holidays, that is within a short distance from the Pemberton Wine Region and the beautiful Karri Forests the South West is so well known for.

Stroll along the beach, past nature's spa up to Cathedral Rock, continue up the cliff's to view The Window, a great place to watch the sunset over the ocean. A little further around is the lighthouse and another seat to just sit, rest and take in the beautiful view. Even in summer though you may need a jumper as the place isn't called Windy Harbour for nothing!

There are many walk trails, scenic spots and 4WD trails in the area and of course the fishing so many come for. The Surfers also enjoy the waves at Salmon Beach.

This property has one bedroom with a queen bed, one bedroom with a double bed, one with 2 single bunkbeds and one bedroom with a single bunkbed over a foldout double futon lounge. An infants portacot is also available as well as a playpen. It is preferred thst you bring all your own linen, including pillows, doonas, sheets, pillowcases, tea towels, bathmats, bath towels,beach towels and hand towels etc. No fencing is allowed within the settlement, so small children will need to be supervised at all times when outside. The play pen can be used to surround the gas heater if required.
