Opossum Bay is located on the Derwent River, just 40 minutes drive from the centre of Hobart.

Just across the road from "Your Escape" is the Opossum Bay beach. The beach is safe and sheltered with beach houses adding to the character of the bay. If you are feeling active 5 minutes drive will get you to some spectacular surf beaches or the Iron Pot 9 hole golf club which doubles as a bar and bistro.

This holiday home caters for all seasons. No matter the time of year you will relax, whether you are indoors enjoying the views, on the beach, fishing off the new jetty or going for a stroll out to the headland. There is something here for everyone.

Locality

Opossum Bay is nestled out towards a headland. Adjacent to the bay is another beach called Mitchells beach and on the other side of the headland within walking distance there is Marianne Beach, Graves Beach and Shelly Beach. All within walking distance from Opossum Bay.

Opossum Bay is on a public transport route with a metro bus stop directly outside "Your Escape".

Property

The house has a front deck to sit out and relax on. The back of the house gets the morning sun and you can sit and enjoy the garden and watch the wildlife come and go.

Across the road is a large playground for the children to enjoy with all modern park equipment.

The property is a safe haven for families and all to enjoy.

The house is directly opposite the beach, a 70 metre walk. There are boogie boards available for all members of the family.

There is a lovely scenic walk out to the headland where you can view a variety of bird life.

Bushwalking & wilderness

There are beautiful walks out to the headland, walking is very straight forward, no bush bashing and very scenic, lovely water views all the way, as well there is a selection of 3 beaches in the immediate vicinity.

Canoeing & Kayaking

Secure storage facilities available, Located on waterfront, Less than 5 minutes walk to water, Less than 5 minutes drive to water.

The house does have a kayak, however the owners do not take responsibility for any personal injury incurred from kayaking. The client undertakes kayaking at their own risk and must wear a PFD provided. There is an additional charge of $10 per day for use of the kayak and the kayak must be stowed away securely on the property on completion of use. The client must request use of the kayak on application for reservation on the accommodationn

Public transport within 5 minute walk, Bus service.

The bus stop is directly outside your Opossum Bay Escape and a service runs regularly into Hobart.

Acceptable for gay and lesbians. As a requirement for all guests that they respect neighbouring properties and keep noise level down to a minimum in the evenings.
