Locality

Lake Eucumbene Units are located at the village of Old Adaminaby. The average height of Old Adaminaby is 1175m above sea level with the Units located at approximately 1230m above sea level.

Old Adaminaby was the origianl location of the township of Adaminaby. the town was relocated in 1956 when the valley was flooded to create Lake Eucumbene, the largest of the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Scheme. Lake Eucumbene has a shoreline that spans 240km and has a capacity greater than 9 times that of Sydney Harbour.

Most of the original township was either moved or consumed by the flooding waters. However, four of the original buildings remain - the Methodist Church which is now surrounded by attractive picnic grounds on the edge of the lake, the Old Schoolhouse which is the office and residence for the Caravan Park, and two other buildings which are still private residences.
