Holiday unit, Self-contained apartment

Oatlands Retreat has 2 bedrooms(sleeps 8) 1 bdm with a Dbl, 2nd bdm with a Dbl plus set of bunks and fold out sofabed in the lounge. There is a large bathroom, open plan kitchen, dining, a sunny lounge and a lovely stone courtyard garden. Warm as toast with a Heatpump. TV & complimentary videos. Full breakfast provisions are provided so you can cook yourself bacon and eggs for a country breakfast. There is a laundromat at the front and safe parking for 2 cars at the rear. We are pet friendly with high gates and fences enclosing the property. Great family accommodation or a private getaway for couples, all within walking distance of all the town attractions.

Pets allowed, outside only. Large undercover kennel and bedding provided. (bond payable, refundable upon vacating)

Locality

Oatlands is situated on the shores of Lake Dulverton, a bird sanctuary which has been stocked with trout, Get your licence in Oatlands and throw a line in or picnic at the free BBQs. Located 1hr from either Launceston or Hobart on the Heritage Highway,

The town boasts the largest collection of colonial sandstone buildings in a village environment in Australia, including the oldest working wind driven mill in the southern hemisphere which has recently been restored to its former glory. You can now watch flour being milled and purchase flour and bread at the Companion Bakery where they make bread to an age old process. It was originally developed as a military base managing convicts between Hobart and Launceston, much of Oatlands being convict built. These buildings now house Pubs, Cafes, Restaurants, lolly shop, antique shops, craft shops and bakeries, plus the recently opened pancake parlour. Oatlands has all the service of a large town including a hospital, supermarket and on-line facilities. Historical information and guided tours of the mill and entire town are available at the Heritage Hwy Tourism Centre located next to the Callington Mill. Why not take a Ghost Tour (prior bookings essential). Another must see attraction is Casaveen, world famous for woollen jumpers and factory tours.

Visit nearby highland lakes, only 20 min drive away where in winter, snow can transform the alpine landscape or in summer do a bit of trout fishing and take in the beauty of these pristine lakes. 1hr drive through undulating countryside will take you to Orford on the beautiful east coast. Oatlands is centrally located, a great stopover on your travels or an excellent base to discover the rest of Tasmania.

Step or lip exists to the shower, Door frames are wider to suit wheelchairs, Toilet is big enough to fit a wheelchair.

There is a flat concrete path around all exterior entry points and is wheelchair accessible from the carpark. A 900mm wide double glass sliding entry door. There is a 100mm step up from lounge to kitchen, all open plan. The bathroom has large turning circle to toilet but there is a 100mm hob to 900 x 900 shower and no grab rails. The main double bedroom has wheelchair access to bed.

Portacot available, Plastic crockery and cutlery available for children, Games/videos for children under 5 available, Games/videos for children between 5 and 12 available, Games/videos for children over 12 available, Fenced/safe outdoor play area.

I have a portacot & highchair. Two bedrooms, one for adults, one for children/parents. There is a heated outdoor swimming pool open mid December to Late March from 11.00 to 7.00pm in the town and also free trout fishing for children in the adjacent lake Dulverton
