Oatlands Retreat has 2 bedrooms, a large bathroom, open plan kitchen, dining, a sunny lounge and a lovely stone courtyard garden. Full breakfast provisions are provided so you can cook yourself bacon and eggs for a country breakfast. There is a laundromat at the front and safe 2 car parking at the rear. Great family accomodation or a private getaway for couples, all within walking distance to all the town attractions.
Fantastic accomodation, comfortable, warm and thoughtfully appointed. Great brekky, a big thankyou. We will be telling our West Coast travellers all about this gem. See you again.

LocalityOatlands boasts the largest collection of colonial sandstone buildings in a village enviroment in Australia, many of which are now businesses such as antique, candy, bakery, craft, hotels, restaurants, cafes and second hand and the oldest flour mill in Australia.
Developed as a military base managing convicts between Hobart and Launceston, much of Oatlands was convict built. Historical information and do-it-yourself tours are available at the Oatlands Tourist Information Centre. You can also visit Casaveen, famous for locally made jumpers, an Australian success story.
Visit nearby highland lakes, only 20 min drive away and try some trout fishing. In winter, it snows quite often, transforming the alpine landscape.
