Cottage, Holiday house

Relax in a house away from the noisy units!
Spacious Salamander Cottage, featuring a cul-de-sac position, is a 3 bedroom house sleeping 6, and is well positioned for a great week-long break, weekends, school holidays and mid-week breaks.

Seasonal rates apply: This site gives estimates and not seasonal variances.

The house is a 2-3 minute walk to the bayside reserve - Georges Reserve and beach, [via pedestrian access walkway] facing the expansive Bay with views direct through the Heads - Tomaree and Yacaaba] and resident pelicans. The public jetty is a few minutes walk as is Stoney Range Reserve for a local bushwalk.

Shops, cafes, Salamander Shores Hotel [bottleshop/bar/dining], restaurants, a local club [bar/dining/entertainment] are all within 5 to 10 minute walks. Several boat ramps are a few minutes by car as is the Horizon's Golf course.

It is all here locally, but the Nelson Bay Marina and Shopping Centre is only a 10 minute scenic drive via Corlette. Put the car away - you can walk on the foreshore beaches and headlands for miles!

The house is an entertainer - with a spacious separate lounge, and large family/living room and is attractively furnished.

The outdoor covered patio/BBQ area is adjacent to the kitchen and living areas for day and night outdoor dining.

The bedrooms are separately located giving privacy and space[1 queen,1 double,2 singles, 2 foldup beds suitable for children]. The bathroom unit has a separate bath and shower room, separate toilet [one of 2], and separate basin area.

The double lock-up garage can store your boat/canoes/dingy, or car/s. Or you can use the space as a playroom [table tennis, games board].

Family pets are welcome by negotiation. A fee applies.

1. We had a splendid time in your Cottage . The area was very nice for a family holiday and the cottage very beautiful. We felt very homely there. We wish we had booked the cottage for a an extra day. We enjoyed our stay very much.
2. Our stay at Salamander cottage was a pleasantly surprising experience. We and our pets enjoyed our stay - the quality of the rooms, furnishings, fittings, the well equipped kitchen and dining was very good. We also enjoyed the table tennis and dartboard in the garage.

Pet Friendly

We will accept family pets by arrangement. Dogs are allowed inside with you. Please bring their own bedding. We can supply you with information on vets and pet services, and a local listing of dog friendly parks and beaches. You can enjoy the peaceful locaity with your pet on the lead and walk to the many facilities eg shops, cafes. Large water bowls are provided. The light spacious double garage can also be a suitable place to contain your pet for short periods. A pet fee of $25 per pet per stay is required.

The wonderful bay waters are ideal for canoeing and there are so many bays and headlandss to explore.

You can walk to fishing spots from the house. There is room for a small boat on the double drive or double garage. There are numerous cruises available in the area, boat and canor etc rentals.

Pets are welcome at Salamander Cottage and are allowed indoors. The courtyard patio/garden and the light double garage are also available for pet 'spaces'. The front garden is lawned and hedged. A pet fee of $25 applies for their stay. We also appreciate owners cleaning up after their dog and managing their inclusion inside the house with care. We have local information on dog friendly parks and beaches which we supply to our guests.

Romantic getaway

Salamander Cottage is private and quiet. The garden patio is a wonderful place to sit and relax and the patio chimnea can be used at night.

Whale Watching

Port Stephens is a popular destination for whale watching and is also know as the dolphin playground. Cruises operate all year for dolphns in the Port waters and whale watching May to November.

Wine Appreciation

There are several cellar doos in the Port Stephens area and the area is accessible to the Hunter Valley for day trips.
