Holiday unit, Holiday apartment, Self-contained apartment

Each apartment is an airconditioned full-size furnished home unit, with separate bedroom/s; fully equipped kitchen; bathroom and separate living/dining room. Each apartment also has its own undercover parking space, elevated front balcony and water views. Linen, pillows, blankets and barbeque facilities are provided at no extra charge. Free Broadband internet access is available via a guest computer in reception, whilst Wireless Internet access is also available from all rooms (charges apply). Cots, high chairs and stroller etc are available free of charge, whilst a free family DVD/book library, board games and jigsaws are also on hand - just perfect to pass the quiet times. Watch for the dolphins as they swim past your balcony. Stroll to restaurants or have a quiet beer or coffee down the road.

The most common guest comment regarding our apartments is that "it feels like they have come home". Our apartments are very friendly and comfortable with the most spectacular views. It is our policy that, if a guest is unhappy with any aspect of their stay with us, we will do all in our power to remedy the situation. So, if you find something you feel we should know - please tell us so we can fix it!

Locality

We are literally a stone's throw from the water's edge. In fact, you can fish, sun bake or swim on the river bank and talk to the rest of your family sitting on the balcony. You will also enjoy spectacular ocean and river views, as well as the beauty of the rainforest which is your backyard. Watch for the dolphins as they swim past your balcony or frolic in the ocean at the entrance to the Nambucca River. Thrill at the multitude of the bird and animal life; the ever-changing colours of the water and the magnificent sunsets.

Property

We have 5 pet-friendly apartments: (a)Riverside Apartment (an air-conditioned ground floor two bedroom apartment with dishwasher; Austar TV, separate laundry and walk-in lock-up garage) and the Courtyard apartment (Unit 1A) Airconditioned,which is a unique pet-friendly apartment with its own entry and a lovely private little courtyard with its own BBQ. A first floor one bedroom apartment is also available as well as a two bedroom apartment on the first floor.
The remaining 4, two bedroom apartments and 4 one bedroom apartments at Marcel Towers are not pet-friendly and they range from partially renovated to fully renovated. All are airconditioned. All apartments (including 1A) have a balcony with the most magnificent water views. They are all self-contained with initial linen supplied, however please note that different fees apply depending on the position and condition of the unit.
There is also an elevated BBQ area at the side of the apartments with lovely water and rainforest views.
We have a library with DVDs, books, jigsaws, toys for guests use free of charge, together with two small row boats for rowing over to the adjacent sand island & 2 Kayaks. WIFI internet access is also available to all rooms,(in addition to the free guest computer in reception

4WD Tours

The numerous state forests that surround Nambucca Heads and its environs provide excellent 4WD opportunities, whilst 4WD beach access is also available with a permit obtained from the local council. Tag along tour operators operate from nearby Coffs Harbour, so opportunities abound!

Shower has shower bars and a moveable shower head, Chairs are permitted in the shower, Unimpeded wheelchair access from car parking to the property.

Riverside Place is a ground floor fully tiled 2 bedroom apartment. It has a walk-in shower, with moveable shower and grab rail. We have a shower chair and toilet chair. We have had a lot of disabled persons staying in the apartment. There are no steps. A lovely porch and the furniture is able to be moved around to suit the guest.

Beach

Less than 5 minutes walk to the beach, Less than 5 minutes drive to the beach, Some beach gear provided - see description for details, Beach views.

Swim in the river less than 20 metres from the entrance to the apartments, or take a five minute walk to the first of the many ocean beaches. The patrolled Main Beach is less than a five minute drive, or you can walk there by venturing past Wellington Rock, Shelly Beach and Beilbys Beach. Surfboard riding can be enjoyed at Main Beach, or a little further north, along the kilometres long stretch of beach towards Valla Beach. This latter stretch of beach also provides dog-off-leash exercise opportunities, as well as beach 4WD experiences (permit required). We also provide some snorkelling gear free of charge, so guests can experience the numerous semi-tropical fish that inhabit the river waters opposite the apartments - or they can simply watch for the dolphins that regularly swim past our front door!

Birdwatching

Many species of birds can be seen in the immediate vicinity, including sea and rainforest varieties. Binoculars can be made available on request.

Bushwalking & wilderness

There are many bushwalking tracks through the rainforests that surround the apartments, as well as kilometres of level river and ocean side walkways and cycleways that pass our front door. Guests have free access to one of our kayaks (subject to availability and demand), whilst kayaks may also be rented from a nearby tour operator.

Close to Public Transport

We provide a free guest pick up and drop off service to the Nambucca Heads railway station and the bus coach stop. Regular bus services to and from destinations such as Coffs Harbour, Bellingen, Urunga , Bowraville and Macksville also operate within a short distance from the apartments. A number of XPT train services stop at Nambucca Heads daily en route between Sydney, Brisbane, Coffs Harbour, Casino and Grafton.

The famous Nambucca Heads Island Golf Course is located within a five minute drive of the apartments. You can even walk there via a level waterfront walkway! The Bonville International Golf Course is also within a half hour drive.

Nambucca Heads and its environs has a long and close association with local indigenous communities, with an indigenous radio station operating from the town centre. There are many indigenous centres/experiences in and around Nambucca Heads.

Riverside Apartment is an airconditioned ground floor 2 bedroom apartment with secure attached lock up garage. It also has Austar TV.

The Nambucca Historical Society operates a museum within a five minute drive of the units, whilst the impressive Bowraville Folk Museum is less than a thirty minute drive and it is absolutely superb - a must see for all!

Our Courtyard Apartment is a one bedroom (1 Q bed & 1 single bed) plus a separate combined kitchen & loungeroom, with a rear enclosed courtyard and front facing balcony to the river meeting the ocean. Pets welcome inside, however as a courtesy to other guests you must take the pet with you when you leave the building. Riverside is a two bedroom apartment, ground floor, sleeps 6. However you may leave your pets when you go out if you wish, as the apartment is separate from Marcel Towers. Great views. Pets welcome inside. There is a $10.00 per night extra charge for all dogs, due to the extra cleaning that we do. Pets must be housetrained, on a flea prevention program and clean.

Whale Watching

Whale watching possible from property, On-shore whale watching nearb, Whale watching tours available nearby.

Whilst Coffs Harbour is the local centre for whale watching tours, migrating whales are regularly observed from the nearby Nambucca Heads beaches and headlands. The whales sometimes come so close inshore that they can be seen from the balconies of those apartments that provide an ocean view, rather than (or in addition to) a river view. Further, dolphins often ride the waves at the nearby entrance to the Nambucca River and they glide by or frolic in the river a mere 30 metres or less from the entrance to the apartments. Some of our guests have even had the experience of swimming with them in the river in front of the apartments, after having just paid hundreds of dollars to do likewise at the aquarium at Coffs Harbour!

One bedroom apartments are from $115.00 per night, these are at the rear of the building but face the front, all have water views, the apartment block is in the shape of a T, the two bedroom apartments are all at the front,these are priced from $130.00 per night, all pricing is for 2 persons, any extra persons are $15.00 per night to a max of $90.00 per week. Stay 7 nights, get one free. If you stay for Friday or Saturday night only, there is a surcharge of $10.00. We are happy to accomodate overnight bookings, short stays or weekly. Easter, September and Christmas school holidays are our peak periods. Different rates apply for these periods.
