Cottage, Farm stays

Each cottage has a private aspect at the rear of the block facing onto a setting of eucalypts and bush land that spreads up the hillside behind. It will comfortably sleep 4-5; however additonal beds can be made available if necessary. With fully self contained services, heating and cooling, we hope that you find the facilities provided suitable to make your stay enjoyable.

Cottage 1 contains a bath with a shower located overhead. This may be ideal for young families, but may not suit those with limited mobility.

Cottage 2 has a shower only.

Each cottage has a washing machine. A dryer can be made available on request.

Ask us about breakfast provisions to get you off to an easy start on your first morning.

Unfortunately we cannot take pets at this property.

Locality

We are located on the Great Alpine Rd 9km from Myrtleford and 22km from Bright.

The Murray to Mountains Rail Trail can be accessed directly though our property or via the road approximately 800m in either direction.

Property

The cottages are located on an old tobacco farm established in the 1920s. Historically it was built to house the workers & their families who lived on the farm, as was customary for the many Italian tobacco farmers at the time. The tobacco kilns remain at the front of the property as a reminder of an industry that is an integral part of the agricultural history of the region.

Mt Buffalo National Park is a 45 minute drive away and provides a variety of walking experiences to cater for all levels. Walking trails can also be found around Myrtleford and Bright.

Popular kayaking locations in the area include the Ovens, Buckland and King Rivers. Lake Buffalo (30 minutes) provides a tranquil flatwater experience.
