The cottage was in a beautiful setting and had everything you could possibly need to make it a home away from home with lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. It was also spotlessly clean. The wine made there is lovely, particularly the chardonnay, which was great for a non-chardonnay drinker! We will definitely be back."

"As a group of 4 x 30-somthing friends, we wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of hectic Melbourne jobs for the long weekend...
Tallowwood was the perfect answer. It is a beautiful property with quality inclusions and excellent value for money. We all felt very much at home as soon as we arrived and our hosts certainly went out of their way to accommodate 2 gluten free girls - all of the breakfast supplies were sensational. The outdoor area and BBQ perfect for relaxed evenings in to enjoy the wine purchases of the day and we had many laughs entertaining ourselves with the board games thoughtfully provided. We enjoyed the place so much and felt so comfortable that on our third day in the region we decided only one winery visit was needed to get supplies so that we could then spend the afternoon sitting in the sun in our own lovely garden! Divine….
The short drive to the main wineries not an issue at all, particularly when you travel over the ridge and see the views! The early morning mist is even more spectacular, if you haven't had too many wines to prohibit an early start.
Certainly worth a visit.

"Tallowwood was really lovely - beautiful setting, immaculate cottage, good service, good food. Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms and a picturesque sitting out area - the Fairy Wrens were almost tame!
We just loved our stay there.

I think the charge of $220 per night was a bit high compared to other B and B's that we have stayed at but we supposed that the Hunter Valley was probably more expensive because of the fabulous location."
