Historic 1880's orignal bank building.
Guest Comments: - No guest comment.
The premises was used as a Bank Manager's residence for the past 110 years. It was originally built by the Commercial Bank of Australia in 1889 and the front chambers were operational as a full time bank until June 2000.
The building has now been restored to its former state with the outside facade displaying the original rendering of the "Commercial Bank Of Australia."
Inside polished floor boards, 14 foot ceilings, original stairway and banisters give you a feeling of yesteryear.
A large fully fenced back yard allows privacy and guarantees seclusion. Three spacious bedrooms with queen size beds, king singles and bunks. All bedding and linen is supplied. Downstairs is fully equipped kitchenwith fridge, oven, microwave , dishwasher, toaster, china, glassware and utensils. Two window seats are a feature of the kitchen setting. A large lounge room with a wood heater ensures a cosy evening in. A large bathroom is a necessity and towels are provided for your use. The laundry, due to its size, not only has a washing machine but also doubles as a sun room.
Due to the buildings age, we have a "no smoking" policy inside the house, however smoking trays have been provided outside.
"Never knew banks were so luxorious and warm. Couldn't have asked for a better night's sleep. Beds are so comfy" Katie from Geelong.
"Lovely old building, beautiful and comfortable. Nicely decorated, a home away from home." Joan from Orbost.
