Holiday house

Set on 21 acres of picturesque bushland and within easy reach of the famous Hunter Valley vineyards, wineries, restaurants and galleries, Wybaleena is at the southern entrance to the Hunter Valley, 15 minutes from the Expressway. The surrounding countryside is a mix of lush rolling fields and woodland. From Wybaleena's wide sunny verandas you view majestic eucalyptus trees, the Watagan Mountains and a farming valley the locals call The Glen. Wander down the track to explore the bush, the ponds and open fields and by night look up at a sky crowded with stars that have no competition.

The house is open plan with polished wood and slate floors and large windows. Every room downstairs has direct access to the verandas. Dine inside or on the veranda and relax on comfortable settees in both settings too. For winter there is a wood combustion fire (or central heating if preferred). For summer there are cooling green shade blinds along the main veranda (air conditioning also). Pretty gardens surround the house and birds are abundant - blue wrens, bell birds, whip birds, honey eaters, finches, quail. There are occasional wombats, kangaroos, rabbits and echidnas.

It is less than a half hour drive to an abundance of wonderful wineries and restaurants, or to the historic villages of Wollombi and Morpeth with their fabulous, unique shops.

Wybaleena would suit a group of friends, or up to 3 couples, or a family, wanting to enjoy the Hunter for a weekend or a week, or wanting to spend time away from it all, in peace and beauty and serenity.
